Known scammer initiated a payment via Zelle to my client

Transaction Note: "zont_pcynx services" — an unusual and unrelated note across multiple transactions

Summary of Concerns:
The user has sent multiple high-value Zelle payments to various Discord users/servers over the past 4 days.

There is suspicion that these payments are part of a coordinated chargeback scheme or man-in-the-middle scam.

The payment note (“zont_pcynx services”) is inconsistent with the actual services exchanged, raising red flags about the legitimacy of the transactions.

Based on volume and behavior, there is concern that the user is funneling funds to execute a larger-scale chargeback or fraud operation.


As a payment provider, I work with (https://www.sythe.org/members/cynx-osrs-service.1691922/) since he is my client, who recently received two payments ($1K and $1.4K) from a customer from the same zelle the transactions for 1k & 1.4k have been completed. The next day, we learned the same person was attempting to purchase $5K worth of gold from another Discord server, raising concerns.

This morning, the individual sent another $2K via Zelle. After reviewing activity and cross-referencing with this hc_player and hc player, we believe they may be linked to a known scammer.

To protect all parties, we’ve placed the $2K on hold and required the sender to complete full KYC. Further details can be provided by my client as needed.

First of all, I want to start off by saying that I am very sorry for it seeming like there is an issue here. There isn’t anything weird going on! I literally help “Kevin” which is the guy who sends the Zelle payments. OSRS gold and sometimes he wants crypto. Generally he knows I have experience in different areas for example RuneScape related. As that’s why I am here. We are not the same person which I can confirm if necessary. I feel horrible for him because he’s waiting patient. I don’t want my actions from the past to determine the outcome of this situation. If you guys would be willing to make this right and either refund it or let me deliver what he was purchasing it would be wonderful. If you have any information or regarding this matter, please don’t mind.

 

He has initiate his fraud attack and has nuked 3 zelle accounts mine and two others
