Explanation of the trade:

A friend suggested I go to acckings.com to sell my maxed main. I opened a ticket with my account stats, bank value etc and they offered me $370 upfront or $500 after sold payment. I took the $370 offer and as directed went to chicksgold website to submit ID proof, address proof, selfie, phone verification. All went through well & I was asked to send over all the account details, including account recovery details including date account created, internet provider, membership transactions etc. That was all good & accepted so they said I had to sign a digital contract document now. I signed all 5 pages of the contracted document and submitted it. I then got a email saying that the contract document had been signed on both ends & the deal was finalized & could not be changed.

Upon receiving the finalized document which was signed by both & BINDING, a worker asked "Did this account ever leave your possession or was it ever traded / listed elsewhere" which I responded no, quickly reading assuming have I tried to sell it somewhere else as well which I hadn't. He informs me I was wrong & my account had been sold before on playerauctions and recovered which is bollocks as I've never sold my account there nor have I recovered it. My email was compromised around 3-4 years ago where my discord, league, paypal & ironman on rs got hacked. The ironman got de-ironed and I think around 900m bank was removed. This is the only time my account has not been in my possession. After this was said to the support team in the ticket they responded with this:

"Right, unfortunately since it was traded and recovered we will not be doing business with you, please request an email change on runescape.com so we can return the account to you."

Any of this information could of been asked BEFORE they had me send all recovery information to them including changing the email to theirs & both signing a finalized contract.

A contract had been written up and signed by myself & then later signed by Luke. Which then sent me the finalized copy. Under 'risk of loss' on the contract it states I'd be liable to pay $2500 if account was recovered up until 2026.

As we speak they have possession of the maxed main account, with their email address on it.
They have all the recovery information.
I have NOT received the $370 promised even though the contract was signed & finalized.
I assume the TOS would be the contract signed, and it states on the finalized contract under 'payment':
"In the case of upfront payment, the Buyer will make payment for the goods at the time when, and at the place where, the goods are successfully obtained by the buyer."

The goods have been obtained by the buyer for some said hours now and a problem only arose once they had full access to the account including recovery details. The contract had already been signed, the deal was binding, my end was complete & they decide to break the contract before they have paid.

I would like them to pay the amount contract signed says, as the account is not secure for me no-more as they have access to the recovery details.


I can give all ticket information & documents signed and finalized by both ends on discord, contains sensitive personal information would like to keep off the thread please.

Hi,

The account in this report unfortunately did not pass our background checks. When we asked if this account had ever been traded on any other platform you replied with no, and when confronted about it you told us that the account was compromised years ago and that you don't recall it ever being sold on a different platform. Not only can we not verify that story, but we are not interested in purchasing accounts that have any chance at being recovered at a later date as account recoveries negatively impact our business. We are more than happy to provide evidence to a Sythe mod with further explanation of how our background checks are conducted.

As for the contract, it is used for your Acckings profile and not for one specific account. The reason for this is so repeat sellers only have to sign a contract with us once. Our second clause states that you will be "paid upon the Goods being re-sold by the Buyer and confirmation that the Goods are as described". In this particular case the Goods are not as described as it did not pass our background check on top of admission of account being previously compromised. We cannot conduct a full and thorough background check without recovery information. For those reasons we are uninterested in continuing with this sale.

At the time of writing we have sent an email change link for you to re-secure your account roughly 5 hours ago. We had every intention of purchasing this account from this user, but the information received after the contract portion directly breaks it. We have the ability to delete the contract on our end which would null the agreement as this was a step that was completed before the sale was finalized. You also have the ability to delete both your Chicksgold and Acckings profiles. We apologize if you're unhappy with our process, but we have to do everything in our power to protect our customer base from purchasing accounts that are susceptible to future issues.

Just so we are clear about the timeline of how things was conducted;
1) Offer of $370 for said account accepted
2) All sensitive personal information submitted e.g ID, selfie.
3) ALL RECOVERY & account information submitted
4) Email link sent to for your email to be placed on said account
5) Digital contract SIGNED by me
6) Digital contract SIGNED by you
7) Questions asked about the account.

Before any questions was asked, you requested ALL RECOVERY details. Having all recovery details does NOT help you in any shape or form run background checks of said account. A mere login username would do that for you.

Also you state "Our second clause states that you will be "paid upon the Goods being re-sold by the Buyer and confirmation that the Goods are as described"." I'd just like to correct you as this isn't the correct clause as I accepted the lower offer which was upfront payment; "In the case of upfront payment, the Buyer will make payment for the goods at the time when, and at the place where, the goods are successfully obtained by the buyer."

- How exactly is my account going to be re-secure after you have the power to recover the account as & when you please because of your shady business actions.

- If I delete the profiles how do I know the sensitive information regarding the account & recovery details and lets not forget my personal information such as ID have not been saved else where. Should I just take your word for it & hope you don't turn rogue because you insisted on having all recovery details?


If you was unhappy with the account after you checked it you could of stopped on just receiving the RECOVERY details. But you insisted on continuing after you have access to the account and then get the email set to yours & make us sign a digital contract. Don't tell me you need the email set and a digital copy to complete extended background checks.

It is shady business practice, you could go ahead and pretend to buy ten maxed 2277 total level account and tell them your not interested after you receive the recovery details like this. Two months down the line you've sold the information to somebody who isn't linked to you and have wiped a few accounts. Yes this could be far-fetched but it's a option you could take.

They was no warning & no indication that once I submit the sensitive information to you that this could fall apart. Presuming you will mention the contract we signed where it states you will as the 'buyer' inspect said account, it was showed and signed after the recovery details was sent across. Regardless of the contract, regardless of if you want the account or not; the account is no longer secure on my end nor to anybody else I sell to as you have all the recovery details. No matter what happens, no matter what you say, we can not change the fact you will ALWAYS have the recovery option.

I have reviewed this and evidence has been provided that you were informed about their procedure prior to the agreement. During their verification they found evidence that the account has been sold on Player Auctions before. I've seen proof of this as well. You also confirmed that the account was out of your possession for some time, which was likely when the account was sold there. This is a valid reason for concern and no longer be interested in pursuing the purchase.

Yes it states they is two more steps which are handing over the account details & digital contract then they shall verify the info. To my understanding that would mean they would verify the account & personal information I sent is correct such as password, account levels, quest points etc. & A digital contract would follow up. They was no mention of background checking verification.
"After this we will verify the info" as you quoted, the only mention of verification was to verify the information I submitted in the next two parts which was; Account details, recovery questions, my ID, my full address, my phone number, a selfie, email address, paypal address.

I understand the issue at hand & would rather not pursue this at all but they is two big issues I have which you haven't addressed @Zora

1) A website operating on sythe is requesting recovery details along with the rest of the account details before the account is even brought. Alongside personal info. If somebody on discord tried this they would get laughed at. How many people could get scammed by this.

2) My account is no-longer secure, I can't sell it nor can I play it as acckings/chicks have the option to recover account as & when they please. They is no need for recovery details if they can somehow back-out of a deal, once recovery details are sent they are sent.

In the end it's a free market. Lots of websites require ID verification for example (including Chicks) which could be used for malicious ends, but just like with recovery information it's up to you as a seller weather you want to do business with them or not. I believe the terms of service were made clearly prior. It sucks they ended up not buying it, but given these circumstances the excuses are valid.

2) My account is no-longer secure, I can't sell it nor can I play it as acckings/chicks have the option to recover account as & when they please. They is no need for recovery details if they can somehow back-out of a deal, once recovery details are sent they are sent.

Considering what you mentioned yourself, one can argue it was no longer secure the moment your e-mail got hacked:

Unfortunately this was a risk you took when you attempted to sell the account. On a side note, if the sale had gone through you would've still had the recovery info. That doesn't automatically mean you could recover it later on without consequences. If Chicks were to do this to your account, it wouldn't go without consequences either.
