Explanation of the trade: I found a post on the Ironman selling forum for an account that I thought was a really solid deal *I guess that should have been my first red flag..* I hit him on on discord and we agreed on the price for the account. (Link to the original posting -> Selling ironman 1700+ Total Heron and Rocky pet[94 Thiev]99 FM[Angler,Rouge farmer SET]Torso,Slay(i)) Neither of us had any vouches on sythe so we both agreed a trusted MM was mandatory for this trade. I sent my payment $245 USD + MM fee using cashapp to PaulieYeahYeah and then Paralleellne starting providing me with all the requesting account information. This was my first time every purchasing an account and thought I knew all the things that I need be on the lookout for.. to avoid getting scammed and clearly I was naïve. I spend close to over an hour trying to remove all the "recoverable methods" from the gmail account associated with the ironman account I just purchased. I removed the "recovery email" for the actual gmail and made it my own email. I changed the phone number and disabled the 2-factor authentication. The moderators will be able to see in the full chat log provided by PaulieYeahYeah that I was unable to get his phone number completely removed from the account, but since I we had both of our numbers attached to the account I thought I was safe. I assumed the reason it was still giving the option to use his number for the gmail account recovery was because of some gmail security protocol and that maybe it would revert back once the new phone/email had been set within 24/48 hours.
How they scammed: Long story short, after 8 hours he was able to recover the gmail and then was able to recover the ironman account. He was also able to lock me out of being able to "try" and recover the gmail. When I tried to "recover it" I was given the message saying google doesn't recognize my device and that I need to attempt to login with a familiar device.. aka I was sh*t out of luck.

Here is the list of screenshots from my gmail (please note the initial timestamps from around 2am (EST) this is when I was attempting to change all the account details and I was getting emails letting me know they were all changed. Please note the last emails from after 8am (EST) when he was able to successful recover via his attached phone number) The last screenshot is showing me trying to recover the email.. but am locked out since I'm not signing in on a familiar device. *NOTE both of our emails are slightly blocked out for security purposes.. However I can provide the unedited ones to mods if needed*

Ill be speaking on behalf of Spooky since he doesnt really have the time.

Spooky told me that he would like to keep the account but is concerned about it being recovered again. Maybe the two of you can make a deal if it gets recovered for a 2nd time a full refund would be issued .

Also what are the odds it got “hacked” 6 hours after Spooky bought the account. And why did Paralleellne check his bank ? and if so .... who else has access to the account ?

 

Thanks PaulieYeahYeah I appreciate the assist. Longstory short, I would like to keep the account. I'm obviously VERY skeptical the recovery won't happen again.. as I'm sure everyone knows, there's virtually nothing anyone can do to prevent a recovery from the original owner. I won't have time until basically early next week to attempt to "re-secure" the gmail associated with the account. What is the process if a recovery does happen again? @Zora

Okay i write it here again..
Guy got somehow hacked/scammed w/e his account and started blamin me.
I put up a recovery so i can pull it from hacker and hand it over back to him.
Long story short i have sold be4 account here and other forums,never had such problem.

As i said i wont do any recoverymore for his account on basis "you scammed me"

And rest assured..As i told before,wont happen again.

To update everyone on the situation.. I've decided that I will give @Paralleellne a second chance, to do the right thing.. hopefully I don't end up back on this section of the forums for the same issue in the next few weeks. I've attached a few additional screenshots to sum up our conversation.. It seems that there is/was still some deception going on as he told me he signed out on all devices but the recent activity shows otherwise.. *see images below* I know the mods are already tracking but the story he keeps giving of "recovering the account for me once I told him the account was hacked" isn't quite adding up with all of the evidence.. not to mention he didn't give me the account back until over a week later, once I finally brought the situation to light on the forums and he received a DNT. In closing, I'm agreeing to keep the account... Obviously the DNT/TWC status of @Paralleellne will be left up to the mods..
