Do I need a VPN to buy gold? Is it safe? [OSRS]

I don't want to get banned, but I want to buy about 100m for some gear. Do I need a VPN? Sorry wasn't sure if this is the right subforum to ask.

 

Its not necessary. You would have to be a high profile buyer and seller to warrant a ban. Even if you did catch an account ban, they wouldn't ban your IP. I have bought tons of gold over the years and never once been banned. It is probably much riskier to sell.

 

A VPN doesn't really help you in anyway whatsoever in this case.

 

For 100M you could probably use your standard IP.

 

If it makes you feel better first offense from buying is only a 14 day ban. 2nd time caught is permanent. The odds of them catching you are very small, but if they do catch you for the first time it'll only be 14 day ban. Go crazy my friend you'll be fine.

It's not necessary, and especially not for 100m. Unless you buy/sell gold frequently I don't see them flagging your IP.

 

Sure, but it's not guaranteed that you'd get the 14 day ban. There are definitely instances whereas Jagex goes straight for the perm.

I've bought over 100m gold several times with no issues. I would not use a vpn, no need for this. Buy from reputable sellers from here on Sythe.

 

VPNs are frequently thought of as something sort of 'synonymous' to security in general; even with botting and rwt.

 

Vpn is not necessary for such a low amount tbh
