The sex trade is a multi-billion dollar industry that include things ranging from prostitution to pornography. I just wanted to see what your opinion is on the 'selling' of sex.

I'm cool with it as long as all parties involved are willing and enjoying what is happening. I would never use a prostitute personally, but I could see the market for one. Tbh, the best route would probably be legalization/regulating it IMO. If it were regulated, you would have less girls being forced into it, less girls being murdered or otherwise abused, less STDs due to regular testing, pimps would be eliminated, etc.

Pornography is totally cool as well for the same reasons listed above. It allows people to express their fantasies in ways that they would otherwise be unable to do.

I draw the line at human trafficking and anything involving underage participants though.

I agree whole heartedly with Ivy on this subject. The treatment of the girls ( or men sometimes ) should be the first priority and the need to be of age. I think criminals with the background of domestic violence, rape, etc Should not be allowed to participate in this trade. Regular testing , as Ivy said, is a must and should be punishable by law if not followed legally.

Prostitution is legal in New Zealand, although frowned upon.
As a result, prostitute related crimes are alot less than they are in other areas, such as USA

In my opinion it's a disgrace. Love & sex shouldn't be based on sucha lowly ''relations''. It's deeper than 1 hour ride for 100$ and then ''Okay, thanks, bye.''. Never seen the point in sex trade, beside the boys can clean their balls...

You guys are just seeing he sex trade as prostitution, which it isn't. The sex trade is all inclusive of things for sexual gratification. Exotic dancers, porn, sexual toys, and everything that goes along with that.

Though the morality of prostitution is ambiguous in my opinion, I believe it should be at least partially legalized in the US so that it can be more strictly regulated.

I have absolutely no problem with pornography, or prostitution, stripping, ect ect. It's your body, so I don't understand why the government is telling you what you can or cannot do with it. As stated before, legal, and regulated prostitution would mean less human trafficking. Not quite sure how pornography came to be legal, yet prostitution isn't (In most places).

Using your body is a completely legitimate way to make money, and I believe it's stupid the government would stop you from doing such a thing.

As far as exotic dancing, sex toys, ect goes, I'm not sure what there is too discuss considering it's legal.

So I take it you are a fan of AIDs, rape, and murder? Look at the system in the Netherlands, or in the Nevada bunny ranches. They are tested weekly and most of the women offer their services in places where they are protected from things like kidnappings and murder.

I don't see a problem with prostitution, pornography, or anything in between. No one has a problem with sex, but god don't dare film it; even worse, don't dare pay for it! As long as they're not harming you, it shouldn't matter.

Well i don`t really have a problem with it as long as both parties give consent however I do not agree with under age pornography. There is no need for this.

Agree with most of you here, as long as there are proper guidelines and full consent on both sides, I do not see why it can't be legalised in the US and other countries. In fact it's just history; brothels (and similar congregations) have been great business for the women and men involved since early civilisations. I think by legalising it there would actually be fewer problems than there are now. But underage stuff is going a little too far, and that is something that should never be supported.

Alright in my opinion it's a little something like this..

If a girl is willing to go to prostitution and realize the risks, let her. No reason for it to be illegal. Sure you can limit it and let it be frowned upon, but they're 18+ and a legal US citizen. So why shouldn't they be allowed? As for underage.. personally I still like watching my age porn (16). I wanna see what the girls looks like at my age naked. Nothing wrong with that. However, there is a too young.

As for sexual toys, they might as well ban lotion if they take away those. They are a big industry. What man would refuse pleasuring himself at the risk of NO STD? Same for the girl too.. anyways they are also frowned upon although everyone was young once and wanted to/did try it.

    I really agree with you.

On the other hand, in some case I can picture a certain person who has had a deep connection with a love one which includes sex, and is chasing that feeling with someone- anyone post-relationship.

So anything that dosen't harm you should be allowed? I'm focusing on the sexuality dimension now.

Your arguments are based on emotions when this isn't an emotional business. The business is of gratification, and if there is consent on both sides of the deal then why shouldn't it be allowed. What right do you have to tell people that they can't sell their body or buy another's time for sexual gratification? A moral argument isn't a good argument because morals are thing of perspective.

Some good points have been brought up in this thread.

I agree for that prostitution should be LEGAL in the USA. It would make it safer and besides; who is the government to say how you use your body?

As far as under-age pornography goes I'm not sure. Like someone else said I don't see the problem with a 16 year old guy looking at someone else his own age. Anything younger then that though get a little bit sketchy for me.

I think that if a woman is in control of herself and wants to sell her body to men, then she should be empowered to do that.

Unfortunately, just like any other business where massive amounts of money can be made and where people are willing to pay large amounts of cash for something, there will come greedy people who want to control that business and get 'their slice of the pie', so to speak.

This is where my problem with the sex trade arises. When men become involved and take advantage of women by controlling, abusing, and violating these women and using their bodies to make money for themselves, the woman is no longer empowered to make her own decisions and her own choices. Instead she becomes a slave, controlled by fear and violence, and by being treated as if she is worthless, which in turn makes her believe those things herself and keeps her embedded in the lifestyle. This is where the concept of a pimp comes in, or the even bigger problem of human trafficking.

The seriousness and the grim reality of the human trafficking side of the sex trade is truly apalling. Girls all over the world, including here in North America, are often literally being stolen from their home countries and kept as slaves and prisoners, being beaten, starved, raped, violated, and degraded while they are used to please men and fulfill the sexual needs of men who have no respect for them whatsoever. I have seen a few eye-opening documentaries about females who are lured or captured from other countries, and sold to pimps in America who literally keep them imprisoned and selling sex constantly. It is disgusting, and these women need to be saved and the industry exposed so that awareness can be brought to the public about what is really happening to these poor, innocent girls.
