Need more information

So I have had someone contact me to buy gold via BTC, this user asked for my address of which I gave him.

He stalled it a bit or at least felt like it was being stalled (could just be me being paranoid) to find out he used my bitcoin address to buy currency via ideal, so he essentially used my code instead of his own wallet to buy bitcoin in order to buy gold.

My question is, does anyone know if this can be recovered, if so how does it work exactly? I don't want to send him the money back, as it wasn't something I didn't agree to then to find myself charged back.

 

From what I can tell via chat logs user cancelled the payment, just really dodgy how they was going against how you send payments.

just wait for confirmation, I usually wait til 2conf or 1 depending on trust.

But BitCoin -- why you should accept it
BTC is irreversable as far as recovery goes. just waiting for confirmation confirms no double spend/etc.

 

Thankfullyseems the guy was able to cancel it via emailing his provider, just stupid and weird how he used my wallet ID code to deliver payments despite not disclosing that at all, thankful to say it’s over with though back to shifting bills I go!
