Deal was 700m 07 for 0.41/m GBP via UKBT.

Got in group, sent sythe pms, traded. @Frenchy traded me 700m 07. @Swagdaddy71 sent the bank transfer; however, it won't be processed until tomorrow according to @Swagdaddy71.

I got banned with the 700m 07 about 10 minutes after the trade. I made sure to use a members account with stats that I've never RWTed on personally.

The question for the moderators: How should they take the loss in this situation? I've never had this happen before. I feel bad, but nothing I can do as it's the risk you take trading GP in game.

If any screenshots/gifs are needed of the account ban, the trade of the gold, or discord logs, please let me know.

It most definitely is an unfortunate circumstance to find ourselves in. I offered to take a 50/50 loss with @Swagdaddy71 before this report was put up.

I am unable to send him half the amount, @Swagdaddy71 stopped the transfer of £287 by transferring his balance to another account (effectively he had no balance to make the transfer for tomorrow).

According to your decision @Swagdaddy71 should transfer me £143.50, to ensure we split the loss 50/50.

It is true upon hearing the news. I’m able to compensate frenchy but i dont feel like i should compensate him for half, given that we traded 400m before with no issues in smaller increments until he requested to use a mm to speed up the process. Yes this is a massive lost for both parties and what i can do is do compensate him: in many cases i could even push to say that many others would not have done the same thing, but i am willing to give 50£ max out of good will. Had we stuck to increments we would have been fine, he would have received the total sum and so would I.

 

There are also no promises that, had i been in this situation, the same would have been done for me. The maximum amount that was transacted between us were £41 per trade.

 

At the end of the day, this can be speculated about who would have done what etc, but i’m only really willing to fork out £50, which is purely out of my own pocket much like how frenchy would have to unfortunately bear the rest of the costs. If you would like evidence of me not wanting to use a mm and sticking to increments i would also be happy to provide that information for you. This is not a shot at anyone. But we started off at 50m’s (£20.50) x2 and we did 3 transactions of 41£ where he went first, which totalled to 400m traded. Had he opted to continue with the 100m increments, just that he uses n26 a mobile bank which takes slightly longer to receive the money from my hsbc account, we wouldn’t have needed to use a mm at all, because we trusted each other from the 50/100s that we did: the only real risk to him being the first 50/100 increment that he traded over to me first. So really, i should only be giving him 41£, the maximum transaction we did which equates to 100m osrs as he was willing to trust me with that amount. Anything above we shouldn’t speculate as he wanted to use a mm at the end of the say to deal with the final 700m at once, which of course is a big amount but that basically means he wouldnt trust me with anything more than 100m.

 

Im offering a compensation but if anyone is not happy with my proposal then he would ultimately receive nothing and I would just receive a sythe infraction from something completely out of my hands, which of course is unreasonable considering i’ve bought alot of gold (more than 20b osrs) off other sellers, but i dont get them to vouch for me everytime.

The situation has possibly progressed from an unfortunate situation to a scam. I have not communicated with @Swagdaddy71 due to being extremely busy irl, so I will give him the benefit of the doubt in this instance.

Before the conundrum of losing 700m, I traded 400M with @Swagdaddy71, by doing increments of 100m with me going first. After each trade he was supposedly meant to send over £41. He shows proof of having done so, but after 48 hours I am yet to see the funds in my account. We did 3 transactions of £41 totaling £123. I am yet to receive this sum.

I have contacted my bank this morning, whom have advised they are unable to do anything. The best course of action would be for the sender to chase it up with their bank.

I know both @Swagdaddy71 and I live in different time-zones so communicating may prove to be slightly difficult. I would have been proactive in working a compromise with him for the 700m we lost, but I would like to receive payment for the 300M gold I traded him before considering any resolution.

I am not accusing him scamming as of yet, but the risk factor is extremely high since I am yet to receive £123 + £143.50. From the 1.1B i have yet to receive payment for 300M, and yet to find a resolution for the 700M which was lost mid-trade. As of now i am empty pocket of 1B.

Any comments are valued at this stage as this extraordinary situation has turned into a stressful one.

 

It’s definitely not a scam. My hsbc account has unfortunately been locked: probably because i am not in uk to verify if this was a case of fraud. So i called the bank when i saw his message and will have to go to the branch in my country, to call hsbc in uk, to get my account unlocked. Frenchy is using a mobile bank of n26 which i sent money of 5 times over. He had received the first 20.50 and 43£ x3 has not been received. I also tried sending money to another hsbc AFTER this was sent and there were no issues. Once i go to the branch this issue will be resolved. I am going tomorrow morning. I can send screenshots of me sending the money and that it has indeed left my account. Why he’s not receiving it is something i’m not sure of but i’ll be able to check once they unlock my account

 

I also haven’t received a screenshot from him showing his account balance yet, but since my account is locked its probably the bank thinking the small increments were cases of fraud.

@Tony nah it's not in yet, told tysimpson i have to go to the bank tomorrow again, saturday was closed.

 

Hopefully this issue should be solved within 24 hours. @Swagdaddy71 has been keeping me constantly updated which is refreshing. I will update you guys with any advancements.

 

I’ve paid frenchy 300m instead of making him wait for the bank haha
