How to build reputation?

I've been a long-time user of Sythe, but I have never participated in the purchase or sale of a product or service. Are there alternative methods of building a reputation, other than purchasing and selling products/services?

I started myself with a questing service. Doing the quests for a cheaper price and gain vouches through that. Eventually i did donate to Sythe to get that lovely donator status!

 

You certainly don't have to participate in the market to build up your reputation. That's just the easiest way to do it. Very much like BlackBlasses said above, if you participate a lot in the community and get your name "out there" and just in general be a decent person, people will come to recognize your name. That + doing things that go above and beyond what regular users do and just being helpful will help.
