My appendix were just removed

After three days with a major stomachache, I thought I should go to the hospital. Once I got to the hospital, They suggested the CAT scan and to put IVs in my arm.
Then took me to another room and shave my stomach and my pubic line. I didn’t wake up until an hour and a half later, it took me 55 minutes just to come out of Annastasia.

The main reason I am writing this is because I’m curious as to how long it will take me to recover. They told me I’m not able to lift anything heavy for one month.

Can anyone give me a healthy Suggestion with a way to quickly recover and be healthy as possible after this?

 

That estimate of 1 month seems to be right. Just be patient. Also, go for occasional walks when you're able to. The first week is pure torture

 

It has nearly been a week with my surgery being completed .. Still in lots of pain

 

Hehe, you'll be in pain for the first 2 weeks iirc. The whole experience was brutal as hell.

It's gonna be like that for 2-3 weeks after surgery. My condolences.

 

This stupid pain needs to roll away bcuz not liking it........................

 

Just play ps4 or something to kill time. Maybe even watch movies or read books.

 

It sucks, just try to lay down drink lots of water and avoid greasy foods and liquor

 

If only I had a PS4 that would be pretty cool in my opinion. Probably another week and I'll be good im guessing?

Hi ambian thanks much for the support guy! I have mostly been eating cold Cesar salads and white meats. Taking it easy and resting as much as i can. The prescription they gave me (oxycodone) i will not take it!!!! Not a pill addict and dont want to become one either lul.

 

Take the pills if you want to alleviate the pain. Also, you'll get better pretty soon mate.

 

just take the damn pain meds. If they gave you oxy that means the pain is strong. If you are really opposed to opiates, at least take like 600mg of ibuprofen or something. You wont become an addict from pills alone - addiction is always part a deeper problem. Physical pain doesn't cause drug abuse, its mostly from mental and emotional anguish. Take it from me, I have broken my share of bones and been in an ambulance more than once. you're better off just taking the meds and alleviating the pain, it will be better in the long run. The less pain you experience in recovery the quicker you will heal. This is pretty much true for all muscle and bone injuries so I bet it will apply to surgical wounds.

Your words in advance are great and seem to know what you are talking about. Much respect for taking your time to write all of that. I do have drug addiction abuse and have been clean for 2 years. I don't smoke tobacco, drink, chew, any pill substance, weed nothing. I would hate to get wrapped up in a situation. I'm taking "Naproxen" which works well!

 

this is probably shitty advice for someone with a previous drug abuse problem, but if you mix coffee (caffeine) with pain killers (like ibuprofen or naproxen) the effects are stronger... this way you can take less dosage of painkillers... or get more pain relief without taking more pills. Again, probably shitty advice for someone who has abused drugs, so take it with a grain of salt. but it works for me.

I had my appendix removed last year. It hurt like a bitch and I was sore for several weeks but I didn't take any pain medication and I don't regret it. Pain meds are no joke and in this country they are way over-prescribed

 

You fucking said it, thanks to Video. These pain meds they put you on are like smoking heroin or taking 3x xanax. CBA taking that shit..
