this dude on Reddit got pp scammed

I'm reading a thread where basically some scammer sent him $3000 instead of $300 by "accident" and got this idiot to sent $2.2k back friends and family instead of reverse the payment. Someone who knows what they're doing should help this dude out, he seems legit.

Seems pretty straight forward, all he has to do is call his Bank and open a dispute on Paypal

 

Post says that PayPal told him to fuck off and he's waiting back on the bank (which is actually a pay card). rip

Probably. I remember back in the day you had to pretend to be hacked or something to successfully dispute a friends and family.

 

Potentially could be done, but they would surely check that by simply looking at the computer that accessed his account + IP, which i'd guess he was on his normal IP and computer.

 

This would make for a terribly evil scam

You feel bad so you gofundme the amount he "lost", you get a very eloquent Thank You! and he disappears with the 2.7K he had never lost in the first place

That doesn't matter, you could still say your son/daughter hacked your paypal and spent your money. My dad did that when I was like 12 because he left his paypal account logged in and I went on a spending spree lol (was only like $100, don't judge me)
