Purchased an account of SirEmusing sometime in late August and paid with OSRS GP (85M). Botted on the account and it got permanently banned. A couple of weeks later I decided that I might buy another account and noticed that SirEmusing had listed a new main account on Sythe: https://www.sythe.org/threads/main-account-with-1800-total-and-elite-void/#post-32777816

Noticed it was the exact same account that I had got banned and that he had recovered it and is now trying to resell it. I was not contacted before or after he had attempted to recover it in anyway and he has now blocked me on discord. The only difference in the pictures of the account is the stats that I raised when I had possession.

I am completely unsure about the rules behind permanently banned accounts being recovered on Sythe, however to my knowledge once the account has transferred ownership then the original owner is not allowed to recover it let alone resell it regardless of whether the account is banned or not. I am assuming if the owner is to recover the account, then he has to be doing it with the intention of retrieving the account back for the possession of the person who purchased it and not for himself.

I tried to find a previous example of this situation on Sythe and found this one that is some what recent:

I've got no issues if what he's doing currently is within the rules, however I am of the opinion that it isn't within Sythe rules. I don't mind if he does not want to give the account back and continue to resell it, however I would want the gp compensation.

I'd also like to add that I never informed him that the account was banned so he acted on his own accord.

 

It appears that he appealed the ban and got it quashed seeing as that's the same exact account listed for sale. @SirEmusing Just because he botted/got the account banned doesn't mean you can keep it if you ever get it unbanned. He paid for the account, therefore it's his permanently unless you come to terms later down the road for a refund to have the account returned. You are to reimburse @Saridaqt for the value of the account.

No issues if you want to keep the account and resell it. I'll be happy taking 60m out of the 85m that I paid for it and then you can go ahead and re sell it. I'm sure you'll get at least 85m again for the account so you'll end up making at least 105m (25m from me + at least 85m from new sale) from the account in total. @SirEmusing

 

User has made it clear he won't refund, therefore I've banned him and he will keep a permanent DNT until he refunds you/pardons. Sorry for your loss @Saridaqt. Read this prior to trading again - Trading 101 - Vouches, donor status and how you can stay safe!.
