want to beat dragon slayer at lvl 7 ?

Introduction

Ok, so you've heard of those "not so well known"- mages who have killed the dragon at level 7, and you want to give it a try for yourself too? It's not that hard actually, the only problem is getting to the dragon. You need friends to help you so you will survive the lesser, skeletons, and other monsters which will probably 3 hit you. But now, we shall get started.

Equipment

* Air Staff
* Adequate Runes (From Port Sarim and Varrock Magic Store)
* Enchanted Sapphire Amulet of Magic
* Blue Mage Hat and Robe
* Iron Legs

* Complete Imp Catcher and Witch's Potion Quest to gain ??? Magic EXP
* Use Wind Strike for the cheapest but most boring training method
* Use Port Sarim Jail as your training spot.

Quests

Quests with no difficulty/combat involved: (25 Quest Points)
Black Knight Fortress, Cook's Assistance, Ernest the Chicken, Goblin's Diplomacy, Imp Catcher, Prince Ali's Rescue, Romeo and Juliet, Sheep Shearer, Witch's Potion

Quest with some difficulty involved: (2 Quest points)
Doric's Quest (get clay and copper yourself, get iron from Powerminer's at Rimmington Mine)
Shield of Arrav (Be a Black Arm gang member, and get a friend to give you the key. Enter the hideout together, and ask your friend to distract the Guard while you nick the crossbow)
The Knight's Sword (Just bring a pickaxe along, so even if you die you don't lose anything. 10 Mining required)

Quest with combat involved: (5 Quest points)
Demon Slayer (Wield the Silverlight only for the first strike, then switch to your magic, Wear Iron Armour for this Battle, but use Magic Amulet. Its not easy, but possible)
Pirate's Treasure (Set Controlled before your last blow, and you should be able to get only 9 exp per stat)

Quests you don't have to do: (4 Quest Points)

You shouldn't be having problems getting the first (telegrab from Port Sarim Jail Goblin) and third (follow the Oracle) keys.

The Melzar's Maze Key would pose a great difficulty. The easiest way is to get a friend to do the actual killing while you wait for the key to appear on the ground.

Dragon Slaying

After getting the nails, ready your inventory with the following: (picture coming)
Earth Staff, 1 Law Rune, 200 Air Runes, 100 Chaos Runes, Enchanted Sapphire Amulet of Magic, Blue Mage Hat and Robe, Iron Legs, Anti-Dragon Breath Shield and fill the best food you can get with the rest of the inventory.



The path in Crandor Island is ardous. You could try to sneak past the monsters yourself, but it would be best to get help from your friends. Beware of the Level 56 Skeletons right outside the chamber, as they would be the most dangerous while you wait for your friend to distract the dragon.

Entering the Battlefield

You know that you have to get to the pillar before the dragon spots you. It is actually possible. What you can do is get a friend to help you.

Every monster has a vision range of 2 squares. If a character gets into this range, and the monster is aggressive, he would focus his attention on him, and would try to follow him.

In the chamber, this can be used to your advantage. Get a friend to distract the dragon when he comes towards the wall. And since the wall is between the dragon and your firend, he will not get attacked. Instead, get your friend to drag him to the far corner of the room, while you get into position.

WARNING: Be sure not to enter when a skeleton is near your friend. If the skeleton attacks him, the dragon pulls back his attention, and may get you before you reach your position.

Final Showdown

Simply cast Earth Bolts to your heart content, keep your shield on at all times. When you finally defeat him, you get teleported out of the chamber. Teleport back to safety immediately

There are 2 sets of believe presently.

1. You do not gain any Strength and Defence experience since you use magic.

2. You become level 13 combat due to the strength and defence experience you gain.

I would choose the believe 2, since there is actual proof given by Derekc.

What is the point in this...i mean, i know people can do this but theres no good coming from it, besides qp at an early level.

well no mater what the str xp will come =/ 30str isnt that bad all tho fucks your cb up its worth the pl8 unless you go 60def well basicly the mage xp dosent raise your cb its not that hard to mess up and get hp up but jsut folo the guide to get as less xp in hp as possible

with new update get your mate to assist you and just make sure he has 59 magic =P you could do it with 1 magic...
too bad you get strength exp from dragon slayer
