Hey guys,

Seeing as the thread has remained open for many hours after returning the name to Zwei I've decided to post up a summary of what has happened because I don't want anyone to get the impression that I don't care. This issue was brought to my attention around 40 minutes after the thread was posted. As a business man and good samaritan within the names market I always show a sense of urgency whenever something like this comes up. I contacted Zwei through discord to hear him out and ask about which name was in question, because I was pretty surprised to hear what was going on. Zwei explained to me what the name actually was and that when he transferred it he was having some connection problems. I asked him this because I was aware that the name was open for at least a couple of minutes.

There was enough time for me to identify that the name was available, and of course enough time for me to go on the website and register a new account with the name on it as well. Zwei did mention and admit to me "It was open for a minute or so" and he also mentioned that he was having some trouble with his internet connection at the time. I know these things can happen and that we're only human, mistakes can come up. When i took the name I took it with the thought that, "If i don't take it, anyone else can pick it up", and I had no idea who the previous owner was. After only 2-3 minutes of conversation I made the decision to return the name to Zwei because when taking the name I didn't take it with malicious or negative intention, so virtually there was no loss for me to return it.

This situation has left me with a good feeling because I was happy that I was able to return Zwei's name back to him. I'm not in this market to make waves or enemies. I do what I do because of my passion for the market. I've learned from my own and others' opportunities through years of trading on here and I'm an advocate for trying to turn the market into a better trading space. Those who know me well can definitely vouch for me on this.

just curious, did you return the name to him because he was a $200 donor ? becuase we had the same problem where you've admitted the same thing about taking my name weekday, but i didn't get the same response it looks like because i am of lower rank?

 

you do later on say, you will discount it , but it's still at a $70+ cost

 

When it comes to someone picking up a username that another Sythe member lost due to expiration, disconnection or negligence, the frequency of these things actually happening is uncommon so there isn't a "fixed" way in dealing with it. In fact in these cases, whoever owned the name should suffer the consequence and loss of their name due to poor due diligence on their end with preparation, checking their connection for stability or the timing. With that being said, Giving back a username due to legitimate loss is definitely a step above the expectation in my opinion especially if you consider the sheer amount of time that the names were open and available for. I could sit and fight for my right to keep the names, but as I mentioned previously that isn't my platform here. I've taken it upon myself to give the usernames back instead of argue for the reasons to why I deserve to keep them. I think @weekday will confirm as well, but I have also given his username back to him.

 

@Majora , made a great decision and reached out to me, he gave me the name back and i completely felt at ease. Thank you Majora, i appreciate it a lot, and i hope all goes well!

It was brought to my attention several days ago that @Sky lost one of his names while a trainer was on his account. When he got his account back it was a surprise to him that his previous name wasn't associated to his account anymore. Now you can imagine how long this name could have been available for, especially because the account was not under his attendance for some time. It just so happened that I took this name more than a week after he asked me about it, and due to the circumstances of what had happened here due to poor timing and negligence, the name taken is rightfully mine. In light of this report and giving back to the community I've also made the decision to reach out to @Sky and give his name back, even though the name was rightfully mine given the circumstances of his loss. He has been a long term customer of mine and I am happy to have the opportunity to return the name to him at this time.

@Sky is welcome to chime in if he would like as well.

Just a TLDR to make it clear for anyone who doesn’t understand what’s completely going on here: (I’ll try to keep it short)

@weekday + @zwei siegen both lost their names because they were available for an extended period of time due to connection problems or failure to transfer the name properly.

I took the names because I noticed they were available (for minutes). Even though the names are rightfully mine, I returned them to the previous owners that lost them.

There is no “fixed” way of dealing with this, I have decided to go above and beyond to take matters into my own hands and return the names as they belong to members of this community.
