Big sellers reporting themselves for hacked gold?

Can someone explain what exactly is going on with all the big gold sellers/buyers reporting themselves for buying hacked gold? What exactly does that mean? Is it something to do with the Mod jed situation?

 

I'm very interested in this aswell.

 

Chicks - Luck - Carbon - Jacky - Together they employed 2-3 sythe staff - Dozens of workers and represent somewhere between $7M-$10M USD annually of gold sales - That is more than most of the gold giants combined. Chicks has been trying to get @Sythe to overturn his case for ages now - One has to wonder what is going on. This is a really significant blow to Sythes market activity wise if all these bans stand on this ridiculous stance by staff. IT'S NOT EVEN A GODDAMN RULE. Stop being asshats and waving your E-dicks around and just admit you fucked up lol.

One obscure statement by Sythe during a massive blackhat crackdown(5+ years ago) back when staff were full on Nazi's about blackhat is the most ridiculous justification for screwing the market and its activity and all these big traders - This is stupid now. It's one thing to mess with the community on obscure rulings but the market is the only thing keeping this forum going. All you do is breakup their marketshare and give it to the already massive juggernauts like Arcus/Bogla and you just monopolize the market more.

These bans are going to be felt hard by Sythe and the market as a whole - Sites typically rely on these types of users to keep steady gold flow at a slightly marked up rate - Thousands of vouches(maybe 10s of thousands) will never be given now - Hundreds of billions if not trillions of gold wont be traded through them now - gold site suppliers will dry up forcing sites to be more competitive and no referrals or traffic will come to Sythe from these traders. You couldn't of gone for the throat of the market - the literal lifeblood of this forum anymore if you fucking tried to.

Pretty simple they bought hacked gp and dont want in the future to have someone come at them with evidence and get reported.

Always better to admit it yourself than have someone report you for this. Jacky and Luck are in 100x better situation than Chiks.

I have seen Sythe become a bit less active and it does scare me tbh, I still don't fully understand the situation though. When you say hacked gold, you mean people hack accounts and then sell the gold to these guys? Like what happened in the case of mod Jed?

Have these people who have been hacked reported this in order to penalize these guys? Sorry if I'm asking stupid questions, but I'm very curious about this verdict.

I'm surprised cause the people taking the bans are extremely trusted individuals in the market and I would personally like to hear their side of the story. Would be interesting.

How is banning them messing with the market? There's dozen's of other traders to choose from. The market/site will go to them now. How is it going to change? You're retarded if gold-flow won't be going to other people. Not everyone buys/sells gold from these series of people. Banning them won't effect shit because this is a free market.
Better yet, it would make people profit more because it "can" make the price go up because there's "theoretically" less supply like you said. The consumers are always able to pay market price no matter what the price is.

No I wouldn't be mad - It's my responsibility to prevent that from happening. If I fail in my responsibility I deserve to lose the money. There's a reason when we buy stakers(example) we delay payments for 3 days with no liability to prevent such scenarios as you described from occurring.

Your question is lazy just as staff are being lazy in enforcing an obscure statement by Sythe - It's easier to just ban users than actually deal with it. Who gives a shit if they buy hacked gold. Jagex doesn't ban buyers - Only sellers. So the only people who would get hurt are the idiots buying hacked gold themselves to resell - If your stupid enough to buy hacked gold than as far as I'm concerned the risk you take with potential bans when trying to sell it is punishment enough.

It's the same joke of a case that Pingy got banned for buying hacked gold off Chicks - Jagex does not ban buyers - I have sold to over 100,000+ users and guess how many buyers have said they got banned for RWT after buying ? 0. His entire case doesn't even make fucking sense.

All these bans are fucking lazy and utterly pointless. It's like someone grabbed a dart board with statements from Sythe 5 years ago written on all the options and staff randomly threw a dart and it landed on a obscure statement from 2013 during a blackhat crackdown.

Do you know how many users in the past 5 years have been banned using that statement? 0.

Know how many have been banned in the past month? 5+.

Fuck off I say. It's one thing to use a past case as reference - It's another to just grab a statement from the owner and use it for your own purposes when that statement is taken completely out of its time, circumstances and scenario and applied 5 years later in a totally different time and scenarios.

There isn't even a rule or a case to fucking reference! It's ONE SENTENCE FROM 5 YEARS AGO! People are being banned for not knowing one sentence Sythe made 5 years ago! Do people not see how INSANELY absurd this is?

 

You can't really do research on "if your buying hacked gold."

Dude wym, hacked gold gets people banned guarranted. Jagex does ban buyer's also, It's just less because buyer's tend to not buy frequently.
(ex. If you bought gold that was recently chargebacked bonds, jagex would ban the normal buyer's also.)

Carbon doesnt flip gold, Jacky didnt have a massive market share

Buying/Selling of stolen property has been against the rules for years, if they were unaware of the rule (which for one of them i highly doubt but i wont name which) then they should have done their due diligence before engaging in such activities.

I don't know where you are "feeling" the market is dying; and for the record these users are still trading so there is nil-effect of their ban. There are plenty of gold traders out there to take up the extra market share they may perhaps give up on sythe whilst banned.

It's absurd for you to say with these 4 users banned, the gold market will die.

 

If you're buying gold which was obtained through someone being hacked and you know about it, you're contributing to the scamming portion of the market by supporting the hackers/scammers of this community and you're also being a disloyal un-honest market user yourself, and if those actions are things you want to support to make money then maybe you shouldn't be here.

i think if any one is connected to the gold traded after mod jed thing will be at risk since they refunded the hacked people and they can track the trades/ip's, and the people who bought the gold maybe they lost it already after the refund .

The bans havent had any negative reaction to their day to day business. It's more of a nuisance than anything. The games changed lads. Sythe's platform no longer controls who is considered trusted anymore. It still carries weight but nothing like it once did. Discord staking/gambling communities have taken over. More gold is traded in those handful of discord channels than all the websites combined. They now control the market and repuation in those communities out weighs former indicators. If you're a part of that community you will have noticed all of the website guys finally catching on. For the better part of 2 years we've had a lock on the hot spot. Words out and shits jam packed. You wanna pay .97/m from some dirty foot asian? Or would you prefer getting it from the source for the cool .80/m
