Turn off Ratings

You should be able to make it so people can't rate your thread, or only people who have posted on it can. It's just annoying if people rate a thread one star for no reason, and you lose business.

 

I was also pondering the ratings system recently..
It really serves no purpose. Perhaps if the ratings were based on amount of views/posts it would be more useful.

 

I thought someone suggested it before, and it was turned off. Don't know what happened.

 

That was before the hack. I could always disable them again, since there's not really a point to them.

Yeah, disable them. Not much point in them besides more bandwidth taken up.

 

I have NEVER looked at the rating to a thread. None of my threads have ever been rated either, at least i dont think. Unless i rated it myself when i was really bored.

Yeah do that. Never used and could confuse new members to believe the thread is bad when it only got 1 star and some other have 5

 

Thats true. .But usually i pay more attention the to threads with Ratings seems like someones actually interested.
