I was surprised that this is not mentioned but here it is. I found a awsome site about 5 weeks ago that bands will put there songs on for advertisement reasons. They are not downloadable, but a large amount is able to be listened to the whole song. They got full albums and the list on there main page of the top songs of the band. Give it a try.

ooh, nice. Also Pandora is pretty good for listening to music without downloading anything.
You will just enter a band or song name and it will generate an radiostation for your music taste.
