so I sold a laptop on gumtree a couple weeks back the person paid me via PayPal and low and behold he opens a case saying it’s not what he wanted he states it’s a broken laptop not same brand or even same colour luckily me being smart I took pictures of the parcel before I sent it and the receipt for postage so I was sure he was going to lose the case now PayPal have decided in his favour and he’s going To send me a totally different laptop back and I have to refund him? Is there anyway I can appeal this to stop me getting fucked out of £400

 

If you have the pictures of the laptop, why not wait until he send you a package of a "false "laptop you record how you take the laptop out of the package and show clear facts that this is not the laptop you took photos off.

Maybe try to talk to them, on phone afterwards ---> PayPal.

Hey, thanks for the help, I’ve spoken to PayPal and they’ve appealed the claim and basically said he has 10 days to ship back the laptop if it doesn’t come within 10 days the case will be awarded in my favour but if it does come and is a different laptop then take pictures and they’ll re open the dispute against him, unfortunately for the scammer he lives like a 20 min drive away so I’ve already told him if he tries to fuck me out of the money I’ll be visiting his house to make sure I get the proper laptop back, but PayPal seem to be handling it for me now
