Well recently most of my accounts have been banned for "Account Selling/Sharing," even a level 3 that I've maybe played for 30 minutes on.

I'm pretty sure that my Jagex is targeting any accounts under my IP. What do I do? The appeal that I submitted for the level 3 got denied, even though I was the only one who had ever played on it, and I stressed for them to check the IPs...

EDIT: Sorry, typed the title wrong, the accounts are banned, not locked.

There is a place on the RuneScape forums under "Contact Jagex" You would be able to get a real response its very helpful and works.

This is actually kind of scary. I didn't know Jagex gave out bans for sharing/selling =S

Hmm my IP address was actually changed very recently, that might have something to do with it.

So they've banned all accounts under my IP, including those that I haven't played on for almost a year...

Any idea how to change my IP w/o resetting my router?

You have to reset your router I think, if not then there's a lot of free software to change your IP.

if you have vista or windows 7 open start then type cmd.when the black box comes up type in
    ipconfig /release
    then
    ipconfig /renew

    that will reset it.

Tried it: this error comes up

"No operation can be performed on Local Area Connection while it has its media disconnected."

You sure the ban is for Account Trading/Sharing? Those are usually temporary, and only on the account which you're caught for..
Since they're banning all your accounts on your IP, I'm guessing it was really for Hijacking?

I'm almost positive you can contact your Internet Provider and request an IP change.

^ True you could probably call your ISP. Are you connected wirelessly?

No sir, but I'm not sure why that would matter much? Just give them a ring and tell them you're wishing to change your IP Address for security purposes :) After all they're sending the signal to your router which your mobile device picks up, e.g. your laptop(s).

why would what matter? if he is connected wirelessly? because that could be the reason for the error he is getting.

Yeah that's the thing... I really have no clue what's going on. Like you, I thought bans for those were account specific.

My IP was changed a while back, don't know why or how but I noticed it yesterday. That could have some relevance but they're banning accounts on which I haven't played in a loooooong time...

And yes, I am wireless. Are there any other ways besides resetting the router/calling ISP?

easiest to just go over to router and unplug it. wait 30 seconds. then plug it back in. if your router is set for static ip then it will change.

Wouldn't that leave it unsecured though? I also don't know how to put a password back on and I don't think that my father would exactly appreciate me doing something like that..

that is if you reset it. you only want to restart it. restarting it will make it reconnect to your isp and possibly get issued a new ip. if you pushed the small button in with a pen and held it for 10 seconds that would delete all your information. like your wireless password and stuff. where are you from? what isp you use?

So would I just reset it by unplugging then plugging it back in?
