I want to know anyone with student banking, regular banking accounts own a savings account? Yes or No?

I do not own a savings account in all the banks I opened with ( Chase, BoA, and Wells Fargo ). I know that all banks in the entire world offer crappy % interest rates and who wants to file taxes for the interest you made off your savings ( 10$ or more ) because I wouldn't. With checking account, you have better control with your money than keeping a checking/savings because of the urge of "spending it" and when you used up all your money from checking, you either 1. overdraw fees which I currently denied from all banks, 2. money taken out of savings.

If you have money just sitting in the bank, after emergency funds, after leisure and committed spending, and you know it will just sit there, mine as well invest it or put it into a CD. Go with that untouchable savings for more interest.

A savings account can actually be quite useful. There are a few banks in my area that offer neat programs if you have 2 bank accounts with them (both chequings and savings accounts). There is one option where you can have a dollar automatically transferred to your savings account from your chequings every single time you use your debit card. This is very handy if you use your card all the time, and it actually adds up quite fast, and can be an easy way to save money if you have a hard time physically taking out a chunk of your earnings every month, as it does it for you :)

If you think you might be interested in a savings account, or if you just want some more general information, I would advise you to simply ask somebody at the bank about what types of programs and accounts they offer. You might be surprised what you find out!

i have one my parents started for me about 6 years ago.

that $300 has grown immensely at 0.0001% interest anually. it is now worth $300.05

not even trolling, i took it out and closed the account recently... had to buy gas, pay a speeding ticket(basic rule) and other things.

(The company that was going to hire me last month lost a few large customers and is reducing their workforce, unfortunately.)
