[Twin Wanted]Bud's Detailed Obby Mauler Log![Detailed Blog, with some Pictures!]

Hello all, I'd like to firstly welcome you to Bud's Progress Blog! So far, I've had two progress threads. My first lacked detail, and wasn't updated regularly enough. My second, however, had detail, although after reviewing it with a few friends, we came to the conclusion which was that it was somewhat "lost". It didn't really have a starting and ending point, just a lot of writing. From learning from all of my mistakes, I've decided to have a third attempt. I'm going to be using the "three strikes 'n you're outta' here" thing. If I screw this up, it'll be a while before I even attempt anything like this again, if at all. Unfortunately for some, I enjoy typing - provided I have something that interests me to type about, that is. Therefore for my third go, I'm going to be writing a blog which will contain 99% text. I would of made it 100%, although readers really would dislike it. Well, not everyone, but many users of a "less-mature" nature. Thanks for reading so far, I hope you enjoy!

Introduction
In my Blog, I hope by the end of it you would of enjoyed reading a detailed, actively updated blog. I also hope that you would of found out a lot about my new account, and hope that you would of hopefully learned a few things along the way too! A little bit about me? There isn't really much to say. I enjoy playing football (soccer for your Americans out there) and Rugby (sort of similar to "football". Once again, for you Americans). Those are my two favourites, although you'll probably catch me from time to time getting stuck in with pretty much anything and everything. I'm 16 years old and live in the United Kingdom. I've played RuneScape for around 4 or so years, and from this time I've had my fair share of good, and bad, experiences.

The Thread Theory
As this is mostly a text based progress thread, it may be a little different to what some readers are used to. Whether you prefer pictures over text is a different matter. Please respect that I, the thread Creator, have chosen to keep this mostly text. Thank you. Okay, lecture over. In this blog, I'm going to be writing a detailed blog of what has been achieved from the time the last blog had been written. For example, if it was 3 days since my last update, I'd write about what I've done over those three days. Although, it will be very rare that I wouldn't have updated it for three days. I'll also add a smaller, "Quick-Read" update log so that if you aren't keen on reading big walls of text, or don't have the time to, you can quickly read about what has happened in short, snappy sentences. I am going to be posting a completely updated set of account screenshots every week or so, however the blog will be updated a lot more regularly.

About the Account and my Aims
The account hasn't be around for long. I can remember thinking to myself whilst training Attack to 20 on my old corrupt pure; "Sh*t, I've forgotten quests." From that moment on, I decided to start from scratch. I'm not going to cut any corners this time. My aims for the account, what are they? My aims currently, are to hit 60 strength from Seagulls. After hitting 60 strength, I'm going to be doing a little bit of skilling here and there to gain a greater total level, along with some wealth. Once I'm happy with my skilling stats (won't aiming for anything above 75 at this stage) I'm going to be starting range. I'll be 1-60-1 (Attack-Strength-Defence) and aiming for 50 or 60 range. After this point I'll progress further with my strength and keep switching from Strength to Range so that I don't end up with being unbalanced.

Bud's First Blog
For my first blog, I'm going to be taking you through the first steps of the account, what I've done to get to where I am, and general account information. By the way, sorry if you don't like having to scroll while reading. It's because I didn't want my thread to be really, really, really long.

Once I had chosen my username and created the account, I quickly whizzed through the tutorial stage. After doing so, I walked to the Edgeville Jail. Here, I did the Cockroaches's cheat thing (forgot what it's called :s) for the 10,000 GP, the Safety Gloves and the 2 Antique Lamps which give 500 experience each. I used both of the lamps on Strength. This gave me 9 strength, and fairly close to ten. I then quickly ran over the Grand Exchange, finished the G.E tutorial, and bought full iron armour, a cape, boots, a pair of gloves, an amulet and about 200 Shrimps. After equipping my gear, I set off for Port Sarim. At Port Sarim, there are several Seagulls. These are very good experience, especially for a low levelled Obsidian Mauler; their defence is low, and they have high hitpoints for their level, plus, they don't hit hard! I'd be training here for around half an hour, with no issues, and then, all of a sudden, a level 67 pure came and started 1 hitting all the Seagulls. I was hitting 35 at max, and with 1 attack this was very rare. I decided to hop. I'd found, after several attempts, a world where I was the only one at the Seagulls. It was getting late at night, I'd got around 25 Strength levels after roughly 1 hour of training. I wanted to get higher, although I knew I should go to be and get back started the next day. So, that's what I did. On the 14th of April 2010, I woke up, cooked some breakfast, and decided I'd level some Strength for a few hours. As my Strength progressed, so did my hits. I was finally starting to 1 hit the seagulls, which was meaning a lot better experience. After several on and off hours of training, I'd got from 25-50 Strength. I was happy. Very happy. My goal for the day was to hit 40, but I was starting to get better and faster experience. Why stop at 40?

The Progress Community (You, the readers.)
From previous experiences in regards to progress threads/logs, I've found that by having a active thread "community" it gives you a motive and an incentive to continue to update the thread. By supporting me, and my account, you will be giving me that motive. With out you guys, I wouldn't of even created this thread. Let's try and make this Sythe's most popular progress thread, ever!

Talking of getting the community involved, I'm writing this short paragraph to ask for some assistance. Assistance in the form of a twin. I have the two accounts ready (the one I've started training on, and, one exactly the same except for an "0" instead of an "o"). To become my twin, the only requirement is that you are fairly active, and have a attitude that doesn't stink. To apply, send me a PM and I'll discuss with you. As my twin, we'd for now only really be training together. Once we've got better stats, we can PK together. I had planned on one of us being Obby Maul and Range, the other Obby Maul and Magic. I think as a team, we could really get some great kills. And, don't worry about it if you suck at PKing, I do too! I recommend you apply ASAP, as the longer you leave it the higher my statistics will be.

Farewell

Guide? What? I'm seriously confused. I'm going to be adding more pictures, it's just there isn't much point posting a 10k bank and all stats at one except for hp, strength (50 at the moment) and mining, which is 4...

Thanks, I quite like it too, considering it's still F2P. Meaning; it's very limited, especially as an obby mauler.

I support, I didn't mind reading all of that. Good luck, can't wait for the progress pics. I recommend getting membership so you can make cash better and leveling obby maulers is much easier.

 

I already started an obby pure... 25 str 20 range !39! magic, 60 mining. I could just change my display name? btw 600-700k wealth...

Well if you got member you could train at rockcrabs or choas druids and make some money off herb drops. Anyways gl

 

Rock crabs are a pain in the ass, and with 1 attack Chaos Druids take forever to kill, even with 60 Strength and an Obby Maul; it's because of the rarity of the hit.

Because I couldn't be bothered to buy one from G.E (the good ones weren't buying) and, I forgot about the dude in Edgeville that sells them. I'll be improving my outfit a lot when I become a member.
