I know this has and will be a touchy subject to be in.
I generally do not oppose discipline, but It's when the parent go out of hand, and end up hurting your child that worrys me.
I come from an abusive family, and everytime I do something wrong or accidentally repeat my mistakes, I get "disciplined". Of course, my parents takes it over the edge, and beats me heavily. Thats the kind of action that makes me deny Child Discipline.
    It can get pretty ugly.

Child disipline seems to be an important part of growing up for my point of view.

It sounds like your parents took matters a little bit too far, Sorry to hear that.

It should be done correctly. Children need disipline, they need to know what is right, what is wrong. For a child to grow up correctly, he/she absolutley needs a bit of disipline. But sometimes, it very well may get out of hand, which is the part i'm overly concerned about.

It needs to be measured because if parents are too lenient then their kids go rank but if there too stricked then children grow up with a warped sense of how to interract with other people

It depends on the child. If the child doesn't need physical punishment then don't use it. If he does, do what it takes to get him to listen.

Giving a spaken for example is not bad, but when it comes to hitting their child, that is just wrong.

Not sure what you mean by discipline...

If you're talking about beating = strongly oppose.

Otherwise I agree - you have to be tough sometimes or your kids (if you ever have any) will turn out spoiled. :\

yea, some of my friend's get whatever they want and when they don't get their fucking wii or something they whine about it, so annoying... children definitely need to be disciplined more so they don't think they can get anything they want without punishment, but beating your child is over the edge.
