[DENIED] Skype button

Support. A lot of amateur noobs get imposter scammed. Anything that helps fight that is a support.

 

Skype is still relatively easy to be scammed on, all it takes is someone that's not paying attention for a minute to get linked into a 3 way conversation with a couple scammers. You can also add buttons into the signature, neat idea though.

 

There's no any difference between Sythe and other markets, users with intelligence compared to money will always get scammed regardless what site they're using.

Regarding the idea I don't think it's good at all. A lot of users stopped using Skype.

 

I try to stay away from Skype all together, but it is an easier way to have a live conversation with a middleman. I guess for the most part I've been out of the loop with the new fads. Lol

 

Fake middlemen are added by scammers to conversation anyways, back to the point of intelligence compared to monkey

 

Yeah, I had that happen to me yesterday. Knew it instantly because the 'middleman' I talked to before talked two different ways. That's why I try to stay away from skype. My two other friends/coworkers have never used Skype so we try to just stick to our website where we know we won't get scammed.

 

There were scams when MSN was used
There were scams when Skype was used
And there are still scams while Discord is used, people ignore warnings that are placed literally everywhere, it's not fault of IM platform they're using, it's their fault

 

Yes, I agree! Sadly a couple years ago I was the victim of a scam where the trusted member was hacked.. blah

 

If user was really trusted then you were refunded, if you werent refunded that means user was not trusted at all

 

did you just "no support" because skype is awful, yet it is prominently on your signature?

Support, because skype is not done yet as long as many people here use it. For this reason I think the location for a Skype button should be generalized, instead of having many unique signatures which use their own way of displaying a skype username.

 

I used to lurk a long time ago, and there used to be these Skype buttons in the upper right corner of people's post header? That seemed like an elegant solution. Although the Skype buttons are fine too, if only inconvenient to find sometimes.

 

Seems like the only argument against this is usually that skype is shit, people forget to realize that 90% of people still use that pile of "shit" and it being "shit" isn't really an argument against helping prevent people get scammed on it

 

I support, but I think it should be in the area of "verified skype" mini, and then you have to put that skype button in the signature.

So that when people see you have the "verified skype" mini, they will just know that they can add you via signature.

Idk how I feel about a button taking up part of the user box, but I think it would be a good idea to talk about for sure

if that's the case, why no have a discord button too?

 

It existed before in the post-bit to the right under join date and post count etc.

I feel like Discord should be promoted over Skype to reduce scams, though.

 

skype should be a trusted place for sythe and be added as a button imo, i would vote for yes

 

can always add both of them, but i see skype as a priority as more people use it atm

well with discord you can completely delete posts in a pm, which benefits a scammer. you couldn't get proof if you needed to (if you didnt take screenies beforehand, which im sure a lot of users, especially new, dont)

 

i support this with the option of where if you don't want the button it doesn't show for other users who may not like the look of it. But i would 100% support this idea very good

 

I support it. And that the user chooses if he wants to put it or not; It is a decision directly from the user, I do not see any problem.
