Very new at this anyone can explain "scripting"

Hey every 1 im new here and i would like to ask a few questions...

1. Whats is scripting?

2. How do you script?

3. Is scripting better then bots?

 

No problem.

1. Scripting is where you write a script (duh ). A script is a set of instructions that the computer takes and does certain actions with them.
2. You need to download a couple of programs, hop on over to SRL-forums.com and get started there. That forum is fantastic. You will need SCAR and SRL also. There are loads of tutorials there on how to install SCAR/SRL, how to script, how to auto, etc. Fantastic resource.
3. Definately, scripting will never die because it is open source, bots suck because they are wrecking Runescape by mass harvesting.

Bots are made from scripts. If you mean a .exe bot which is more newbie friendly with a GUI, it's just compiled script.

 

WRONG! There's a big difference between Scripting and Programming. Scripting is writing code from a pre-made programmed API with functions to simplify stuff. The real hard work lies in the programmer's hands who write the Framework API itself.

 

Ah, I got mied up with programming + scripting.
