Hello my name is Phil. lately I've seen many incorrect answers to people computers issues on the forums. I go to a vocational school and I'm specializing in computer system technology. I'm A+ certified that makes me a certified computer tech.

So if you have any computer problems ill be happy to answer them. (And you wont get any BS answers)

If you want to chat with me directly add "philiprego" to AIM.

    Note: I'm not a programmer.

    -------------------------------------------------------------

Working for my tech rating on sythe that currently doesn't exist.

I'm A+ certified which makes me a certified computer tech.

    About A+:
"CompTIA A+ certification validates the latest skills needed by today’s computer support professionals. It is an international, vendor-neutral certification recognized by major hardware and software vendors, distributors and resellers. CompTIA A+ confirms a technician's ability to perform tasks such as installation, configuration, diagnosing, preventive maintenance and basic networking. The exams also cover domains such as security, safety and environmental issues and communication and professionalism."

To verify that I'm really A+ certified go here:

I'm currently studying Network+. I plane to get certified this coming June.

    OK Phil, another problem.

I'm using firefox, and when i go to the google image search, or any other image search i have a problem.

I search for something, the first 5 or 6 pictures loads, then it stops. I have to press back then forwards then it seems to load a few more.

    Anything i can do?

hmm ok. I would first try using IE and see if the images loud correctly then you no theres something wrong with firefox. If you dont already have the latest update for firefox get it. You might have a bad internet connecion. Are you using a wireless internet connection?

Theres a few things that you can do that wont cost anything and will make your computer faster

Defragmet hard drive- Go to Start|Accessories|System Tools|Disk Defragmentor. Then click defragment.

    Disk Cleanup- Start|Accessories|System Tools|Disk Cleanup
When it finishes loading check all the boxes and delte it.

Check Disk- Start|Run type CMD press ok then type "chkdsk"

These things should make your computer faster if your willing to spend around $50 you can buy some more ram for your computer.

I wouldent suggest changing to windows XP unless your getting a new computer because this will only make your computer slower

    Problem 3:

For some time now i have had some problems with the USB ports on my computer. They work fine until i plug my W880I phone in, then it makes a clicking noise and turns off.

It's almost as if there "is not enough power" to support a lot of USB devices plugged in at the same time.

It does not come up with any error screens, it just switches off.

My guess is a faulty mother board, but what do you think.

There is not a problem with the phone as it works on my laptop, and i also used to have the same problem with the webcam aswel as other stuff.

    Thanks a lot m8!

The reason is that you have a USB 1 while your device must require a USB 2 connection.

The only solution it to buy a USB Hub like this one for $15 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1187800&CatId=48

    Computer Problem

My computer is screwed and won't boot up *using my family members computer now for a limited time*

When I boot it up, it shows underscores blinking like normal
    (_)

then, a minute or so later, it blinks a few lines down and doesn't move from that, even if I wait 3 hours, a day, or a week. I don't know how to fix it from my experience. Anyone know?

Hey Phil, My friend recently used ctrl-alt-del and ended the explorer.exe process on his computer. Now when we try to boot it up it just sits on the loading screen for hours. How can I fix this? Ive tried safe mode and regular mode but they all get stuck on the loading screen.

Its Windows XP Home edition I believe if it helps.
    Thanks very much.

well it looks like your going to have to reinstall it. Start|Control Panel|Add and Remove Programs|Add and remove windows components|

Unmark IE and then click next. That will uninstall it. then do the same thing but mark it and that will install it again.

Or better yet just get firefox

He means windows explorer I think. The system has nothing to run off (Where explorer should be), so gets stuck.

IF Thats the case then a reformat is in your future. You should still be able to save you files though.
