Guide to Enlightenment xD

As I know, all of you guys have a dream in your hearts to be a staff member



Well here is a guide i have made to "guide" you closer.

First Steps



1. Setup your user account further. Get a signature and an avatar. Go to your User Cp and customize your account. Make it YOUR account. Its not hard and lets users know you are commited to the site.



2. Reply to a bunch of introductions. Everyone does this. Don't deny it. I did it a long time back. It builds you up so your are no longer that "nobody". It also lets some users recognize you as a warn hearted member



3. Don't go straight to questions. People hate questions that have been asked already. If you are really that new, just search for it. You probably won't be new if you are patiently reading this.



Next Step



1. You should have about 10 posts by now. Search for any questions you might have. If you really cannot get them answered, just wait .



2. Don't post anything yet. You will look like a fool. Go to the announcements forum first and read them. You will know the community and what is happening. If you decide you like the community, then stay. If you don't like what is going on, leave .



3. Well, by this time you should have gotten a feel for who is in charge and who is a very active fellow that is nice to chat with. Look at their profile and see what their personality is like (this is where customizing our accounts help). Add them on msn or private message them. You will want to start of with an introduction about what you are familiar with. Do not come straight and tell them you are a total noob. That translates to total idiot. You will soon get a nice chat going. If not, the cease to talk with them because they are not you type of person (yet).



4. Now you may step into the world of the forums. First things first, go to the community/general discussion forums and reply to some messages. Do not make the same reply and make sure you read the posts. CONTRIBUTE!! People dislike users that post with less then 7 words.



5. As you progress, you will naturally get tired of the community/general discussion forums and look else where. Go to markets, graphics, whatever may interest you. You will always find something unique about the area and like it or not.



Moving on...



1. By now you should be atleast experienced in some matter. At least 20 people know you well and you are a qualified canditate for some rank. Normally at least 300 posts and/or 1+ months on forums. Do not try to make it look like you want anything. Be moddest too.



2. Control the crowd. Use the crowd to control the staff. The crowd are other users like you. Learn how to make them like you. Talk on msn, private message, or just post threads!! Make things happen! The best way to make things happen is posting a thread. Besure you have total control over your thread. It represents you so if it is "gay" or "retarded", don't bother posting it. It is sometimes helpful to find parts of news or topics from other forums or areas and tell users on the forums. More like informing users. It starts good discussions and can really make your reputation go up. Be sure to state your sources of where you got your information.



3. Making guides yourself. Guides serve to help users. Don't do anything but try to help people. If you need money, don't add it to your guide. Just serve its purpose. Sometimes modeling other guides may be good. Using a guide that was already built and making your own content. If you decide to make your guide from scratch, besure you understand your content well. Add on to your guide. Don't just leave it alone. Remember the guide also represents you.



Guru



1. If you successfully executed the steps above, you are a known member. You are on the right track to recieving the long awaited promotion you have been waiting for. Do not EVER ask for the promotion. It NEVER works unless you are close friends with an administrator or something along those lines.



2. You should continue what you are doing now and besure to compliment other users. The thing that brings members down is saying things about them. If you have something to say, don't post it. Either hold it in or just private message them about it.



3. When you feel you have a good grasp on the community and your promotion is coming anytime now, just keep it up. You will have your promotion if you believe you deserve it. Do NOT let down. You will have just let go of a rope that you have tried so hard to pull in.



4. Donating or doing whatever it takes is really worth it. If its as simple as $5, its really worth it. The respect and access you gain is well worth the money. You get the administrator or owner of the site's personal attention.



Promotion arrives!



1. When your promotion arrives, you no longer need this guide. YOU ARE ENLIGHTENED!!



2. Read the staff forum. If there isn't any, suggest one and contact the administrator that promoted you. He/she should give you reasons and a bit of a clue on what to do.



3. Never let your guard down. You can relax now of course, but keep yourself aware of the community. Post, don't just die away. Administrators from different time zones may even think you left!



Well Your Off. You have reached your dream now Just don't forget buddha's teachings and you should be fine.

This seems to be the most "misleading" guide ever made.

When you meant enlightenment I actually thought of it as a way of understanding life/mother nature and having peace in mind.

But instead I read a guide of getting "known" in the cyber world of users.

Truly sad =(

 

Or you could just be yourself and legitimately get "promoted" or not promoted based on who you actually are and not what you've made yourself out to be. It's better if people hate you for who you are than like you for who you aren't.

 

Pretty misleading, i thought it was sumthin else =P like real enlightment not "promotions"lol but thanks for the guide anyways :-]
