Just wondering if upgrading from a 144hz to a 240hz will make a big difference and if so what is the best 240hz right now on the market?

Not that big of difference like going from 60hz to 144hz, but you still can feel the difference instantly. If your games run over 240fps+ average and wont be broke after the purchase, ill recommend upgrading. Maybe BenQ Zowie XL2740 but its 27 inch.

One thing you should consider is, do you have the hardware? To get most AAA titles to run at 240FPS would require a decent processor and a high-end GFX card. The difference between 144hz and 260hz is how smooth the game feels, whether or not that's worth the extra money is up to you.

and here I am on a 60hz monitor playing nothing but Runescape... I should really splash out and upgrade my PC soon so I can try out all the new games.

Running the same GPU as you but with a ryzen 9 3900x. Bought an ROG 165Hz G Sync monitor going from a standard full HD 60hz, noticed a big difference here.
