    o_O

ok, not really a system I'd personally make but id like to hear why you chose the 1200Watt PSU and 8 core AMD CPU.

this is not a cost efficient system.

you can build more powerfull intel based systems for less money.

What kind of expectations do you have of your system? What price range?

I'm actually struggling to find a good brand PSU, if you suggest any would be helpful to me 1000 Watt +

I have been building AMD my entire life and the 8 core is only $189 4.7 GH'z is good don't do much but game.

Intel is a brand name. I don't want intel period.

Eh? AMD is a brand too.

The reason people nowadays favour intel over AMD CPU's is due to intels hyperthreading technology.

Also, they run less hot and use less power on average.

8 Cores is overkill for a gaming machine by the way. so unless your doing multi core rendering processes or want to get a high cinebench score for no reason. dont go for 8 cores.

I am currently running a quad-core 3.0 GH'z, if you don't suggest the 4.7 in which they recommend liquid cooling I'm going with the 4.4 GH'z since they say the 4.7 is a nuclear reactor without recommended liquid cooling.

How about the PSU? Do you have any brand suggestions you mind linking me?

Corsair, EVGA, Coolermaster. there are plenty of good brands for PSU's.

I'm already making a list for you.

here is a build that I'd recommend.

    PCPartPicker

I didnt include a case. thats a bit of a subjective component.

The Hyper 212 will allow you to run the i5 4460 at its maximum clock speed at all times. which should prevent any bottlenecking from the RX 480.

The Plextor M.2 256gb SSD is one I have owned myself in the past and I can testify for its fast read and write speeds.

I see. Be aware that this is an OLD case. and its partially made out of plastic. something i would never recommend for anyone.

I'd go for something like this: Corsair Obsidian Series 450D Black Aluminum / Steel ATX Mid Tower Gaming Computer Case Compatible with ATX (not included) Power Supply - Newegg.com

But ofcourse, cases are subjective, im just letting you know that the front ports are kind of out dated.

Phanteks and corsair make great cases nowadays with plenty of room for cable management and removeable filters.

Instead of the mid tower I went with full tower

Yeah, thats a very nice case. plenty of front ports. Cable management, fan filters etc...

If you have any further questions you can add me on skype and I'd be glad to explain some more and my past experiences with building systems.

I'd still go with the RX 480 for gaming

XFX Radeon R9 390X vs Sapphire Radeon RX 480

You'd be getting a better graphics card for less money.

The R9 series cards from AMD in my experience arent that great for gaming on in comparison to their older HD 7970 cards. but with the new RX 400 series they opened up a market of affordable ultra graphics gaming.

I base this on the fact that i currently own an XFX HD 7970 double dissipation and used to own an Asus R9 290X Direct CU II card.

Crossfire isnt exactly smart with todays cards. in terms of price performance you're basically cutting yourself short when you decide to go for two cards instead of one better card.

You also have to keep in mind that not all games even support crossfire or SLI.

Also. Please don't waste your money on a 1200Watt PSU xD.

I ran my last system on a 600watt PSU and it had more power draw then the system you are trying to create.

Cooler Master V8 GTS - High Performance CPU Cooler with Horizontal Vapor Chamber and 8 Heatpipes - Newegg.com

    G.SKILL TridentX Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200) Desktop Memory Model F3-2400C10D-16GTX-Newegg.com

I won't crossfire then. I'll buy the card you recommend and later buy a 1080

these are the last two parts I feel I might change. I personally like the CPU Cooler, but do you think the RAM you picked is better?
