Just another illusion of control given by staff to the community tbh.

Literally nothing changed staff just made it seem like it did and everyones like "awesome".

Upper staff still vote on applications, its still 100% private, and the community has no say what so ever lol.

I don't get how this is any different then them voting on staff polls in the USL, u might aswell just remove the apps and go back to that, there literally isn't 1 difference currently.

Literally the only change is that people write up a fake ass application which they audit, spellcheck and read over 50x over which gets them sounding perfect then in reality their nothing like it.


Waste of time tbh, I agree changes need to be made but this seems like a step backwards.

Why would I be Bitter? If anything I should be the one loving this because it means I cant be blowtorched by the community.

Also staff are still basically nominating people, their the ones that vote after all.

The only difference is you nominate yourself lol, which does absolutely nothing.

well it allows you to nominate yourself and give yourself visibility for someone that may of been potentially overlooked.

tbh all it's done is make it a lazy mans job for staff. Now they don't have to actively look at what people do. People just offer themselves on a plate. SO you have a point, although it is different in that sense. Whether you wanna see the cup as half full, or half empty is up to you.

that's how sythe was for a while and then it changed in like 2012 after staff really weeded out very narcissistic individuals

a lot of people get all bent out of shape that selected staff members often know the current staff.. you know why? because in order to vouch for someones behavior, aptitude for the job, and the likes it is quite helpful to know the individual or at least have one staff member that can vouch for the individuals competency

talking to a staff member isn't blowing them and nearly every staff member i have ever known has hated it when people tried to suck up to them. I know I was one, it's fucking annoying and if staff power is going to your head on a forum you need to go out more
