I'm Hacked! What to Do?

Some person lured me into posted on their "official forum" for a fake merching clan.. I wasn't thinking. It was a phishing link.

I changed my password, email recovery, and I cannot login.

Whenever I login, it says your account has not logged out from its last session.

Luckily I had a PIN for my bank and such... But how can I get my account back?

 

recover the account when you change the password it will kick them off. alternatively you will have to wait until rs updates or the 6 hour time elapses which ever happens first.

EDIT: I forgot you can also go to the RSOF and complain there if you have another account until a Jmod helps you.

 

Yea, dont worry they probably are trying to guess your pin.

 

Well I was stupid and my password had the PIN in it. They just cleaned my bank of about 7 mil. It could be a lot worse! Thank goodness I changed all the info and such and got my account back.

Now I learned to never mindlessly type in passwords or go to external links that sounds too good to be true. Lesson learned.

 

i would recommend having your pin and pass completely different

 

I would also recommend scamming your computer for malicious software.

 

You should download Malwarebytes if you don't already have it, run a scan with that as well as your regular anti-virus software to make sure you are clean. Once you have removed any threats, proceed with changing your password, recoveries, bank PIN, etc.

 

Just a little 7m, you can make that back easily
Scan you computer to be safe and change your password, bank PIN, etc on a different computer.

Be thankful it wasn't a lot more, I fell to a phishing link when I was younger, I lost items worth around 3.5m, luckily I had a bank PIN in place. I doubt you have anything bad on your computer, but it's always good to check with Malwarebytes or another good virus scanner that your PC is clean. Always check the links you click on and never enter your RS username or password in on any site that isn't www.runescape.com or www.jagex.com

make sure you can your comp with a virus software to prevent any future hackings.

 

Ouch mate. But then again 7M is only like 3.5 dollars. You can easily buy it back/bot it back
