Do Not Use EpicBot

Just warning everyone that EpicBot contains a Trojan, do not download or use this bot it has already hacked other people. I just ran a scan on my computer and Kaspersky picked up 2 viruses.

 

Supposedly the installer contains malware, but only if you choose to install the third party apps. They know this, but why they don't remove that is beyond me.

 

The installer contains spyware but that's because of the third party programs it asks you to install, this is quite common on free programs as they get paid to do it.

 

Maybe you shouldn't be downloading programs.

My computer has epicbot downloaded, but has no adware/malware/trojans.

Checked with Spybot, Malawarbyte's, and security essentials.


But the others are right, the installer does come with 6-7 ADWARE (not malware) programs.

 

Probably best to upload proof before making a claim like that. I'll check it out and if I find anything sus I'll report back.

 

Well I already deleted the files from my computer after I ran my anti-virus. It could very well just be from the freeware that is installed when you run the .exe file to install EpicBot. Either way, people have been saying they have been hacked so I'm not going to risk using this.

 

I don't think it's hacked. Only person that's posted about it was you + a guy a while back who seemed to have downloaded it from a sketchy youtube video. Just checking, you downloaded it from the EpicBot site, right?

 

It's the PUP's that come with the installer. You get the option to decline these.

Anyhow, we're working on the installer.

 

If you know the programs that come with the installer are malicious, why are you continuing to use it? That's very negligent.

 

I said this exactly in their official thread and my post was straight-up ignored. They've had this issue for years. *shrug*

 

Guys they're making money from it and it's as simple as that.

 

Yes, but at the expense of the customer.

 

People still install it, it's guaranteed money for them.

 

I'm not denying the money making potential, I'm saying it's a shitty way of making money, on a moral level.

 

Agreed but have you looked at the people running EpicBot?
