2002 changed my life..

Hey guys, I'm DE FI. (decentralized finance acronym).

Back in 2002, I was a wee little lad in the middle of the USA, but my cousin played Runescape -- pre-dclaws, pre-korasi, pre-fiber optic internet (lol). I had to sit and watched him for hours play this game "Runescape" on this tube box monitor running the 2001 launch of Windows XP. I was intrigued....

What a time to be alive, well nonetheless, my older cousin being my older cousin, wouldn't let me play on the only computer in his house while I was there at all, but I wanted to play. So I'd wait til he'd go to bed & on the week / weekend's I was at his house, I would go to the computer & MSN search how to setup a runescape account & figured it out, it took me days to figure out tutorial island and the basic mechanics, but eventually I spawned in lumbridge and died kicking goblins as we all did.. lmao

Fast forward 8 years, I was an active RS player, avid pvp'er, had thoroughly enjoyed BH & accumulated holiday items, membership, dragon sets, figured out how to PVM, made friends, and enjoyed the game.

Then one day a friend told me about RSPS's (runescape private servers) & told me one to join, this is where I was introduced to the underground of digital marketplace's... I was hooked like a fish & started spending my days & weeks accumulating custom items, wheeling, dealing, online gambling/wagering, and eventually selling RSPS items for Runescape items & then for real cash... the platform I used at the time was a "unregulated" version of paypal called "Liberty Reserve" which I was a avid user of at a adolescent age, but I didn't quite know what to do with the money I received on there so I just kept it.. well enter 2011 -- the online community had been chattering about $BTC (Bitcoin) and I was intrigued -- a anonymous version of my liberty reserve that I could send and receive from anyone, I immediately started researching more and more about it, and the more i I researched about Bitcoin and dubbed "Cryptocurrency". I started to fade out of Runescape forums (RuneCMS) and Runescape private servers and into finance forums & crypto talk forums (reddit, bitcointalk, digitalgangster) & was as obsessed with Bitcoin more than I ever was Runescape -- I saw freedom. I never left that itch alone, and amongst the years, I have been able to create a path away from any troubles I experienced in my youth and build a family & stable life for my son, and help the people around me in a way I never would've thought possible.. had it not been for those long days watching & those secretive nights learning and playing.. Runescape.

I have the free time and availability to find some leisurely activities and I have gravitated back to my roots here in the online realm of gaming and community, and I think that it's a really incredible thing that I've been able to full cycle my life back to where I started all thanks to this little computer game I used to call home.

 

And yet you cannot spare any of said finances to purchase a donor rank ^.^
