20-45 Defense Pures Guide

Ever wanted to be one of those lower leveled bounty hunters that amazes with 30+ hits? Ever wanted to be a pure but don't want to get creamed in your monk robes? Here's how....

First of, the two kinds of pures I will be describing today are most often called Initiate Pures (20 Defense) and Rune Pures (40-45 Defense).

"Initiate Pures"

Initiate Pures are the rarest of all pures for the reason that many pures are free to play or the members pures are generally obby maulers etc. Initiate pures are usually just regular pures who accidentally ruined their pure and got some defense levels so they just leveld it to 20 for the initiate armor. This pure can be effective at low levels as the initiate is roughly equal to adamant armour.

Rune Pures

Rune pures are the new pure. Gone are the days of the monk robes and such. Pures are finally realizing that 1 defense won't cut it as they get constantly. This is available to both free to play and pay to play characters. However, some P2P pures like to do The Fremennik Trials for access to the berserker helmet.

Creating your pure

Choosing a unique name is quite important. No one will ever respect you or even say "gf" if your name is Pker 2353543 or PkG0D131241432423 or something of that variety. Pick something that isn't common, or isn't seen often. Your name should be one that you are satisfied with and means something to you; preferably without a Chinese phone number after it (pker138u2358y245y3uy634y634534546).

After you've completed tutorial island you may want to start training immediately. I'll cover training spots next.

Training Your Pure

First off, your going to want to decide whether your going 20 defense or 40/45 defense. This is a personal choice. Rune pures have increased survivability, but initiate pures will have higher strength and attack at a lower level (not much lower though). If in doubt, be 20 defense, for you can always just get 40 defense later.

Where to Train

I'm not going to tell you the levels and areas you have to go, I never found this helped (i.e Levels 1-10 Kill cows); rather I will give you a list of Attack and Strength and recommend spots based on the levels.

Strength and Attack: 1 Kill cows east of lumbridge. These are great until about level 10-20 combat.

Strength and Attack: 20 Monks in the monastery north-east of Falador. Stay here until 30 attack and 30 strength.

Strength and Attack: 30 If you are free to play, I recommend killing the level 12 minotaurs in the Stronghold of Security for defense levels. Kill these until 20 defense.

For the strength and attack portion, I recommend killing Rock Crabs north-east of Relleka if you are P2P Stay here until 70+ strength, 40-45 defense, and 60+ attack.

If you are free to play, move on to the level 30 minotaurs until 40 attack, and 40 strength. If you decide to be a rune pure, you can kill these until 30 defense.

F2P Strength and attack: 40 Move on to flesh crawlers on the second level of the stronghold. Easy to kill and a max of 1. Kill these until 60 strength and 50 attack. Raise your defense to 40 on these if you are a rune pure.

Ok F2Pers if your serious about becoming a good pure become P2P now. If not keep killing flesh crawlers.




This is what you should wear while training. The cape is up to you, fire cape if you can get it. Rune pures should wear the same thing but replacing the initiate with rune.

Thats about it for my pure guide. I'm not very good at pures or writing about them so I realize this is pretty horrid. I would give it a 5/10. but if it helps you at all its done its job so thanks again!

Lol you can't get barrows gloves as an initiate pure.......

I'd tend to agree; no higher than 5/10 but someone asked for it so I tried my best...actual combat stuff and god wars is more of my specialty

 

If your a Zerker or Rune pure, you can. You can only get Mith Gloves if 1 def, and Addy at 20. So basicly you can mate.

 

Yea if your zerker or rune you can but it is tough.

 

You should mention about getting proselyte armour.

Wellllllll ty anyway, I fucked up and now i cant get addy gloves without going over 23 def lmao..but ty anyway xD overall its a good pure guide for ppl who dont like rfd...i say at least 8/10 -.-

 

Could you maybe add some more pictures of training spots. Im not dumb or anything I know where they are just asking thou.

This is a great guide for F2P but U MISSED SOMETHING BIG. If you want to be a rune pure don't train to 40 def, only train to 33 def. YOU STILL HAVE TO DO DRAGON SLAYER WITH GIVES 18K Def EXP.
