2 New Sigs (WIP)

This is my second attempt at an abstract piece.


First legit sig in forever.

Give me your opinion and some help, trying to work through artist block.

 

I like the second one, but you have the effects a bit messed up. The first one is a bit plain, it starts really good, but then the random shot of lighting to the right needs to be like the start but maybe in a different colour, do that to the rest of the bolt.

 

They;re still Works in progress, so when I get home I am going to do some more work. Any suggestion on the second one?

 

I like the first one quite a bit but the second one the effects seem to be distorted in both arms and the hair.

The green stuff in her hair was on he stock, I thought it was going to work out at the end but it just kinda looks like its there. I will try something new in V3

 

Basically, displace is a filter that I absolutely despise, because of the way that the eye concentrates on areas with most contrast, saturation, or chroma (if everywhere is fully saturated). With displace, small areas are highly contrasted with light and dark, so automatically the eye flickers to those areas instead of the areas you presume to be the focal point, so basically, the focal point is her forearm under the text saying nebula.

Learn to use effects to maximum effect - displace should be used to emphasise the focal point, not subtract from it.
