Make new users more known

As you can see here,



Right now we can see up to 12 new members at once. Not to say every new member has something bad connected to them, but the availability of seeing more new members allows people who report vaders, and staff to find them easier. I don't know if this can be done, whether that box is already maxed in space or it is just 12, so is birthdays, so I don't know. Figured I would throw this out there, if it can be raised it would be beneficial to stop evaders before they get a start.

 

No support from me, Basically rather than welcoming more newcomers with the box you want spaces available for people to witch hunt new members. Although you're right about vaders, If someone genuinely wants to find out more about new people just to see if they are an evader they can just wait until they come across that person.

 

Always ask for a pm , but in all seriousness, teach new people how to properly use the market and it wouldn't be a problem.

 

Hello, just want to give my input.

So I was going to suggest to make a spanning banner showing the last 10-15 new users or something and that this was a good idea..

But then i realized that this would be the same as dropping bloody meat into a pool of sharks. People on this site WILL take advantage of these new users and will try to scam them, which would in turn make them quit sythe before they even get started.

I do agree that maybe we should introduce new users to a moderator, middleman, or another higher ranking user to help them learn the site and to welcome them, but I think broadcasting new users may hurt them more than help them :/

 

Either that, or have a big box that pops up with the how to stay safe on sythe guidelines which they have to read and accept before they can view the forums, If they just press agree and don't read it and get scammed, that's their fault.

 

Clearly no one even see's my point here, the more users available to see, the less likely a ban evader gets by. Why you correlate seeing new users to scamming I don't really get, but whatever. And who gives a fuck if I have a dnt, I report newcomers and old users all the same anyways.

 

You guys are so obsessed with catching ban evaders instead of welcoming newcomers. From a standpoint of attracting new members to Sythe and for the details behind this suggestion, the idea itself is horrible.
