Also, I think I have two-step authenticator on my account, which may be a problem as I no longer have the phone I activated it with.. if it can be de-activated with just my email address it will be no problem

 

I've lifted your ban, but 2fa can't be removed like that. Instead use your backup code in place of the phone code and you will be able to login and change it.
