What do you guys think of this tattoo?

I'm getting this one in about 2 months. My arms arent that big since i'm only 17, but i dont have really small upper arms tho. Should i train those 2 months to get bigger arms? or after i got the tattoo? or is that not a good idea since the tattoo will stretch out while training after i got it? thanks

 

What does this tattoo mean to you? If it doesn't mean anything then it's the worst kind of tattoo to get.

To me, its a tree in a triangle....... It does look well done though, it's a bit unoriginal though if you get the exact tattoo someone else has.

As for your training question, definitely train then get the tattoo, you don't want an oddly spaced tattoo afterwards.

 

My father had excactly the same tattoo as this one with some birds flying out of the tree and some shadow etc. i want to place excactly the same tattoo as he did, he passed away 8 months ago. and i always loved that tattoo

 

If you have to ask, you shouldnt get one.

 

That's more than enough of a reason to get it. I honestly would ask the tattoo artist what he or she thinks if you believe your arm is too smal. Maybe he can scale it for you so it'll fit/look better?

 

I wouldn't get it because of the many things you can interpret it as, most being negative.

I don't see how a tree or three sided figure can be interpreted as "negative".

 

I like the tattoo itself: well done, abstract, visually appealing. However unless it has any real meaning to YOU, I'd say don't get it.

You should train and be consistent with it, don't just train to get the tattoo. 2 months of lifting won't do much (naturally) btw.

If I were you, I'd wait till you're at a good arm size, one that you're happy with. If you get the tattoo and decide to bulk up, the tattoo may stretch and look weird.

Anyways, I like the design, but your arm probably isn't the best place to put it because it will wrap around, or have to be pretty small.

 

tbh even though you have a good reason to get it, I don't think you need a reason at all to get a tattoo. I'm going to be getting a lion sometime soon and it has absolutely no meaning whatsoever. Do you homie. But for the training. Don't train just for the tattoo. Only train if you're going to keep training. Who cares if your arms small, you can easily get it resized or just get it somewhere else.

 

I think you should add something personal to it in memory of your dad.

same - feel like theres a bit too much focus on the triangle when just glancing at it


and obviously as others have said train first before you get it, if you do decide to get it in the end

But I mean, if you want to be one of 'those' guys who just judges someone because they have a tattoo of something they like, you should probably get your priorities straight.

 

Just to let you know, the progressive overload principle really does the most after 5-6 months and has the biggest impact over a year. 2 months will do almost nothing to increase the size of your upper arm. Don't be in a rush, if I were you I'd work on your arms until you're 18 (if it's a year away from your bday) and get the tattoo on your birthday.
