Paid homework help

Currently you are not allowed to offer or request payment in the homework help section.

In the real life sales/purchases section however you are allowed to both offer and request payment for homework help.

My suggestion is to allow offering payment in the homework help section. Ideally also allow posting paid services to do/tutor homework in that section as well. It doesn't make sense to lock peoples threads that offer a payment for help, but then allow it in another section that doesn't fit quite as well.

The way the sticky is written makes it seem like it's not just specific to help & requests. It conflicts with what he said before.

I'd like a clarification on this if anything.

 

I personally don't see why paid tutoring shouldn't be allowed in the homework help section, but if it was decided before, I guess that is that. I'd think a subsection where you can advertise your tutoring services would be in order. The homework help section is a dead section anyways, and it always struck me that it was mainly meant for a select problem, or maybe small group of problems on your homework, rather than an entire section of a course.

That quote is ridiculous, a trade =/= exploiting people, most of this forum is based on trading.

People can still ask for free help on some questions, or a homework answer. But stuff like essays and tutoring could be done for money there as well.

 

Agreed. It's completely dead anyway so what would be the harm in making it a semi-market. Hell if that drives it to become more popular I'm sure we would end up having more free advice than we currently do (next to none.)

 

You aren't allowed to offer payment in the help and requests homework help section. This is because of the nature of the support centre and how unique it is here. You can offer your services or purchase services in the real life market. Stickies in sections are relevant to the section they are posted in.

This won't change.
