Possible troubles using Western Union for gold selling payment? HELP!

I'm knew to this whole environment and I'm not sure where I should be posting this thread, so hopefully a mod can help move it around if needed. Thanks

To get right to it, I'm curious to find out if anybody has experience using Western Union as a payment method when selling RS gold (or anything for that matter.) I just got done selling off some RS gold and everything went smoothly, traded, got the code to track if the money was sent - and it is. It's ready for pick up and it looks like everything went well, however, I noticed it's from some random name halfway across the world.

My question: Could this pose a problem on me when I go to pick up the money?
Do I say I know the person IRL?

I guess I'm more concerned about it being a stolen identity and they used it to pay for my GP. Are there any repercussions in that case? If the money used as my payment was stolen? Please help and thanks for any input!

(Sorry for the repost! Put it in the wrong section)

You don't have to answer any questions about what you are receiving the money for or why. As for the stolen identity concern, it would be relatively difficult to steal enough of someone's information to send a WU payment. Even then, since you receive the money in cash, they can't do anything to reverse it on your end.

I say it's a friend. I've picked up money several times, ranging anywhere from $100-$1000. Only problem I had once was when they asked the Middlename of someone. He didn't even put his middle name on the form. Normally WU verifies the payment if done online. Is it not possible to check if the buyer was from that same country?

Alright, hopefully it will go over smoothly then :) Just had me a little bit sketched because I didn't think about the possibility of this happening beforehand. Thank you

What do you mean Apith? I wasn't given the middle name either, and hopefully they don't ask me. I just know the information I was given from the sender was that their location was in a different country.

I mean out of dozens of transactions, they once randomly figured to take his middle name from the ID they gave him and ask me for it.

I'm straight up with Western Union about buying/selling RSGP. Since 2007 I've never had issues.

When I pick up a money order, all I have to do is give my ID and fill out a transfer form with the relative info. It's not very hard, I've never been asked anything before.

I used to worry about the same thing and get extreme anxiety whenever I picked up massive amounts of cash from a random chinese name but nothing ever happened. They shouldn't ask you anything, and even if they do you can give any answer/story and they have to believe you and give you the money because it is your money (just make sure you don't say anything that goes against their terms of service. Western Union is meant to be used to sent money internationally.
