I didn't watch the video, but I assume the kid is just breaking something and not making a political statement. Even if he was I wouldn't take a random internet kid's opinion in a very high regard.

But the commentary is just typical nonsense from someone who worships the state.

This is nonsense. The United States government/combat branches have done next to nothing to protect free speech at least in the last 50 years. In fact its quite arguable that they've eroded it.

You do know that once you have enlisted (if it was before the war), leaving isn't much of an easy thing, right?
While I know that you will simply brush off this question as you do with everyone else, hence your attitude towards everyone (just saying), I think you should consider that some people do it because they have no other choice.

Whatever it is because of money or other reasons (maybe got forced into it, etc), there are always multiple sides to one story, not just the one you see fit.

Please point out an instance where I brushed off a question, I'd love to see that. The reason why I'm not particularly nice to you is because you're a state apologist. You make excuses in defensive of evil people.

If its money there are a million better and less sick ways to make money. If you're forced into its slavery, and I don't believe we're quite at that point yet.

There are multiple sides. Either you buy into the public school education and believe they're just heroes fighting for your freedom or you look at the past and current entanglements. But nah, its easier to turn on the news and hear about the one touching story that'll make you tear up and wave your flag a little harder.

 

@ Darkest or whoever, ,out of curiosity, does the fact that it was a WW2 Purple Heart change your opinion at all? At that point it wasn't the US invading some middle eastern territory. Most believe involvement was necessary to defeat the Japanese or German states.

 

That's why I make it a point to say in the last few decades. There is at least a strong argument to be made there for the use of force, nevermind how the military gets paid.

And techinally, yes, going to another country to fight is a sacrifice for your freedom. Just think what could have/can happen when those people aren't taken care of. Today, IS mentioned they are closer to a nuclear weapon than ever before. Think of can happen? Our soldiers fighting in another country, aren't doing it for themselves. They're doing it to stop something that could affect us in the future.

Think about what happens when people are 'taken care of.' Millions of innocent deaths, lives destroyed, and the entire thing paid for with money extorted from the pockets of my friends and family.

You'd be hard pressed to find a credible threat against the U.S. that offered that large a scale of murder and theft. That also couldn't be voluntarily defended.

Heard that line in the past, didn't work out so well did it?

And if that is a credible threat, an army of 2.3 million people is definitely not needed to handle it. Not to mention the horrendous crimes ALWAYS committed and alternate motives always present.

"Our" "Us" Are you under the illusion that you have a representative government? That popular opinion matters/can't be easily manipulated?

Of course they are. For the paycheck and uniform and fitness and admiration. And if they're attempting to do good in the world they're in the wrong career I'm afraid.

I'm going to step out at this point. A lot of people drank the propaganda cool aid. Continue believing the mercenaries of the largest group of professional liars, murderers, and thieves only do good things to defend freedom. (Never mind the fact of course that as the military has grown we've become less free of course).

Really don't think that whenever young people do something like this the response of throwing our hands up and saying kids will be kids is right. We have to at least give it some thought

 

There might be something behind it, yes. The only problem is that most kids these days sway our way of thinking in that way.
