Need help with a problem on my phone

Yesterday, just randomly, my Nexus 5 started to do this : http://gyazo.com/6f35b3220a9285184d526b92381e4191

This happens when I try to restart the phone, hard boot the phone and force restart the phone. It is un-useable

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do?

EDIT: When I hold down the screen on the left side with an extremely hard grip, the screen unfreezes for a second or two. I think it's a hardware issue

 

Definitely a loose connection between the display pin and the LCD screen

First things first, hold down the power button for about 10-12 seconds. Best case scenario - boot screen is distorted but changes and your problem is fixed. If that doesn't work, hold down the power buttons + the volume down button for 30 seconds and try again.

Let me know if it works or not. Also, did you have USB debugging turned on before this happened? PMing me is the easiest way to get my attention.

 

I've tried both of those things before with no luck :/ and what's USB debugging? I don't think I had it on
