Alcohol | Shock Top Belgian White Review | 3rd Edition

Always enjoyed a nice beer but let me tell you, this is one of my favorite so far.

Very nice wheat beer that has a little orange/lemony taste to it. But minimal effects of those 2 fruits.

Cost: around 8$ at my local liquor store. I definitely think it was money well spent. Came in a 6 pack.

In the bottle: Has a typical brownish bottle. Nothing too fancy about it, just your typical beer bottle!

In the mouth: It's very refreshing and you can taste nearly all flavors that you'd expect in a beer. Can taste the ale, fruity flavors.

Swallow: Very smooth and no grimace look that some pansies get as they drink a beer. No bad after taste or anything. Very easy to drink.

Overall: 8/10

I'll definitely be getting this more often. It doesn't leave you bloated which is a good sign for a beer. The taste is quite complex and definitely makes you think about it.

I highly suggest it if you're a beer fan or looking to start drinking beer.

Blacking out is always an option, always.

 

I had the apple kind and I enjoyed it quite a bit. I think I'm going to pick up a six pack of Samuel Adams tonight.

 

I find the graphic on the bottle kind of off putting.

"Orange peels" The peel!? That doesn't sound very good. I've had orange chicken with orange peels in it and I ate a peel out of curiosity. No thanks.

You're not supposed to eat the peel, it has essential oils in it though that releases flavor.

Got a six pack earlier of Winter Lager. I don't drink a lot of beer so my pallet isn't quite advanced, but of all of the beers I've had it is probably the best. A very smooth taste with a slight hoppy after taste. I didn't really get cinnamon notes or fruity notes, but like I said I haven't drunk a lot of beer.

A mediocre belgian white but ok. They make some good seasonal offerings.

A little worse than blue moon imo. All things considered probably the best busch offering.. but that isnt saying much.

This and blue moon got me into hefe's and belgian whites.

 

and i'm just sat here with a pint of Guinness.

 

Haven't had a blue moon for awhile so can't quite remember the taste. WIll have to try it out soon.

Lol not a bad choice

 

I've always been afraid to drop $10 on a six of Guinness, afraid I won't like it.

 

Its delicious. Just dont start with the "extra stout". Has a bit of a sour taste.

Also if you run across murphys get it. Its better and cheaper.

 

Oh my god, went to Applebees (not my choice) and they had it. Best beer I've had so far. It was perfect. Smooth, not too hoppy or too much of a malt flavor. It was amazing. I was so surprised. I thought it was going to be at least super hoppy, but it was so smooth and rich without being overwhelming.

 

I also drunk a Whiskey Smash and must say I was sort of disappointed. It pretty much tasted like a gin and tonic, but with mint and not as good. It is lemon, Jim Beam, and mint with shaved ice. By the time the server got it to me the ice had melted some and it had started to water down. The bourbon in it was overwhelming and the lemon and the mint were only present in the first couple of sips. I would've much rather had a gin and tonic.

 

Try an "old fashioned" if you can find anyone to make one. Its pretty much strait bourbon, bitters and a spoon of sugar but tastes great.

Glad you liked guiness, stouts and porters are a favorite.

 

I love the first couple sips of these, but after that it's just garbage. Terrible aftertaste imo

 

Murphys is better? Them be fightin' words meht.

 

If you were to find them both on tap side by side im not sure which id choose. But the murphys cans have the n02 doohickey that makes it taste like its just off the tap whereas the guiness is generally bottled.

Guiness fresh off a keg is a whole other animal vs bottled. Draft guiness > Murphys > Bottled/canned guiness .
