Introduce me to graphics

Hello people of sythe,
I have been wanting to get into graphics as it is a passion of mine and i always wanted to create my own cool pictures/animations. However im a newb to this sort of stuff so i have a few questions i was thinking you guys could help me with.

What is the best free programme to get started for making graphics?
As this a real passion of mine, could it potentially bring me in some extra money if im good at it?

First of all, welcome to the world of graphics!

Some free programs I'd recommend are: Gimp and Photoshop Trial

I'd highly recommend you get Photoshop and Cinema 4d if you want to take things seriously. (There are other ways to obtain them then paying for them, just look on youtube there are tons!)

If your good at it and the community likes your work then certainly you can make money!
