Pills dont match the directions

I was prescribed penicillin for my throat pains and it says on the captioned bottle "Take 1 pill 4 times a day for 5 days." You would expect there to be 20 pills right? Well I only got 15 and that's weird considering it's an odd number. My doctor told me to me to finish all the pills so the virus doesn't build a resistance to the medicine. I'm kind of worried because I really don't want this to come back, nor do I want to go back all the way to the hospital. Was this a mistake or done intentionally (not in a bad way)?

 

Definitely sounds like a mistake. It would be a good idea to go back and get the rest of the pills if possible.

 

You should always take all of the medicine as directed. Even if you are 'feeling better', you still need to take the rest of it.

I assume it is a mistake by the pharmacist. Unfortunately, if drug laws are strict wherever you live, then you are going to have to go back to a doctor and get another prescription, because the pharmacist won't believe the pills were missing/be legally allowed to give you more.

 

Seems logical.. Fuck now I gotta go back.

 

Any update on this Ghast? Immunity is the key here you don't want to half way take a prescription because you'll start to build up an immunity to the medication. It won't be as effective the second time you take it and you may have to take more. I would assume you were diagnosed with strep throat or something to that effect?

 

call a pharmacist, see what they can tell you.
Usually they know what they are doing xD
