Well, this is partially a feedback, partially a suggestion:

Even though this did NOT have any effect on me, this might have saved someone $200 in a trade.

I do not understand why staff delete posts on threads that are negative about the seller. I do understand what accusing without proof is - However, I think if someone has an actual argument against the seller that isn't a plain 'scammer, twc' etc - it should NOT be removed.

http://www.sythe.org/riot-points-gifts-referrals/1706903-selling-skins-insanely-cheap.html

In this thread I had about 5 posts, pretty firmly stating the reasons why people should be careful trading with him, I even got him TWC'd.

Guess what, he ended up scamming $200.

I don't really care for those posts, but in this case and in many other, leaving these posts could actually save someone some $.

Thanks.

For what it's worth - I totally agree & support this.

Sure, delete pointless posts on threads that just scream retard like "SKEMMER LELELEEL". But, if somebody has got something to say, and present it well, I don't see a problem with it.

Damn, even my post was deleted on his thread, which I had proof of.

I'm pretty sure people are allowed to post on ones thread stating why others shouldn't trade with said user provided it's an actual reason/has happened to them.

I'm not sure why posts that had merit to them were deleted.

So that means I'd scam you $100 and throw away my $200 donator status and Lalapo would lose all his business and $300 donator status on a $140 scam.

Seems legit; You won't use OMMs either [Both of us offered to use MM] - or are those scammers too? Fuck off - most of your vouches are fake probably anyway.
Spam

Waitwhat; Your convo shows:

'Whats your PP address?

MSG DELETED

Ok, sending.'

BitCoin wallet link, legit; When talking with me, you didn't offer to accept BTC. Desperate attempt at saving that fake vouch aye :/
Spam

Just warning to other users, OP refused an OMM when I agreed to purchase at his price. His reasoning was that he found another buyer willing to pay $200. Be weary folks.
Spam without proof

and so on.

Ehm, I hate to argue, but:

First, about the posts on the thread:

1) Ok, consider that borderline spam, but I don't necessarily agree with that either - I posted a picture of him refusing to use an MM - to which he promptly responded - this was my response to that.
2) A vouch is being pointed out, after he claims it was not a PayPal trade (when in reality the picture clearly shows it is a PayPal trade - this is interesting, because the seller apparently doesn't accept PayPal).
3) That should be completely ok to be posted, in my honest opinion.

Am I not allowed to point out something that doesn't add up about someone's vouch? You consider nearly everything as spam [not you, but the staff in general].

Technically the rules are:

Either post with proof -> But we have the scammer section for that, so post there.

OR

Not have solid proof -> Don't post, because it is spam.

I also don't understand why one may not post, that the OP denied to use an MM. No one would lie that and if someone goes as far as posting that, it means that the user is definitely sketchy.

Why not allow people to do so?

I understand where you are coming from, BUT: I think it's being a little exaggerated - Many sites, lets not name any - allow people to post freely. The thought of post count = trust is long gone, so I don't see why these few posts people make every now and then hurt.

Post proof and it wont get deleted then

Post proof and it wont get deleted then

1) I posted proof of him rejecting to use OMM and it got deleted nonetheless.
2) How do I post proof in the post, where I am challenging the legitimacy of one his vouches [where he uses a different skype, suddenly accepts PayPal as well?]

Let me sum up my idea / what I'm trying to say here:

People are not allowed to post any negative comments about any seller, on their thread. If you have proof, report him, if you don't, it's spamming - This should not be the case.

I feel that giving the presumption of innocence to everyone is not the way to go. Sellers should not be protected so much and if someone has an opinion, they should be free to post it on threads.

In fact, it should look like this:
- Have conclusive proof -> RaS section -> Banned
- Have inconclusive proof / argument, etc. -> Post on thread -> If accused seller can prove their innocence -> Infract person who accused / If accused seller can NOT prove their innocence -> Post stays.
- Have nothing meaningful to say {e.g.: TWC! - Scammer.} without any further explanation, whatsoever -> Delete post / Infract Post.

Posts unrelated to sales of any sort should be Deleted and / or Infracted:
- e.g.: 'Nice account!'
- All types of backseat modding {You have the report a post button, yet some of the wannabe mods on this site still feel necessary to backseat mod - If someone is careless enough not to read stickies, there is no need to remind him, his thread can be locked, imho.}

Posts however related to the sales should not be deleted / infracted / considered spamming:
- Be that such as: Added on skype {this way the seller can see who added them, etc}
- Asking for info about sales {whether the seller is willing to accept other payment methods, use MM, anything not clarified in the OP}.

Well would you want your thread filled with shitty arguments making you look bad just to prove your innocence? If we just let people post what the want without proof then people will do it all over the place just to make competition look bad.

Saw this response coming.

But:

So you believe everyone would go ahead and try to trash one another's thread, who is a competition to them? Go out of their way, spend time posting irrelevant accusations? Are the markets so saturated? Are the competitors so fierce? I don't think so.

Even if so - Is it a good idea to stop people from having their say completely?

Did you ever stop by to think about the fact, 90% of the users whose threads are trashed turn out to scam in the end? Coincidence? And you protect them.

Sellers should be able to prove the people accusing them wrong, no? If someone constantly thrashes other people's threads, he shall / would be infracted many times - Banned.

Yeah, I'm blatantly protecting scammers. That's my favourite thing to do. Post some substance with your accusations and your posts will be left alone.

Lol.

I did, got deleted. Saying this for the 4th time now - Still looking for a response as to why one may not challenge a vouch / post something relevant with a verbal argument against it either. I pointed out something about one of his pictures, which was a vouch. Why Can't I do that? It's to raise people's attention, that the vouch is strange, they should look at it better, before making wrong assumptions.

Anyhow:

Please leave the thread open, so other people possibly can have their input as well.

Or if you can just show me one or two instances or tell me scenarios where someone goes out of their way to post bullshit, I will give in and say you are right. I don't understand why it's so necessary here to always stack up firmly with what the current mentality is.

I don't see a post with any sort of backing up of accusations; after a look through.

I'm not one to lock threads after I say my 2 cents, just leaving them here.

Alright; Thanks.

if I recall well, I do have a deleted post in there, where I even linked the RaS post, which he got a twc for - that was deleted.

And as for the post about the vouch, it's beyond me, why it's not ok to do that, I think that should definitely be changed.

If you look carefully, you will see, after my post, he came up with some mega bullshit excuse:

' That was actually my bitcoin wallet link ' - whereas the vouch, containing the picture of the skype conversation clearly reads:

Whats your Paypal?

Message deleted

herpderp,

etcetc.

^not sure if you saw this in particular; If you did and think it's spam, I think it shouldn't be considered that tbh. As it's: relevant to the topic, not short unhelpful comment, etc - matches none of the criteria of spamming in the official rules, as far as I'm aware.

Well in most cases the accusations are pretty baseless, and it's not uncommon for new market traders to not want to use an MM or even OMM because as a newbie it is pretty daunting to think about bringing someone else in, trusting them and so on.

In most cases the way we handle it works, just unfortunately it's hard to see one backed up post in amongst 10 other spam posts. Mistakes are always made, we're only human :p

Sure, making mistakes are no problem, I'm not blaming the mod who deleted the posts [don't even know who it was], I was just thinking that all posts there are considered as spam in general. If it was deleted by an accident, that's ok, I just didn't know what to think of the situation, cause I feel those kind of posts should be okay.

Anyone else with opinions? :)

nope those posts (that Roary posted) are not allowed, just post proof of your claims and a mod won't delete it

I know; But I feel the spamming related rules are a bit exaggerated, I don't think posts as such [where youa re posting something about a vouch say] should be counted as spam. What's your opinion on that?
