1700$ USD pc good? or a surprise?

as I said before, unless you care about crysis, this is a fine PC.

Personally I would have spent less on the processor and poured it into the GPU, but I'm going to guess you didn't have a choice.

hey dont be so down, it'll play every other game just fine, bioshock, team fortress 2, WoW, etc etc.

My computer is about the same as yours except a worse processor and a better video card (mine cost me 700 bucks flat to build, for just the tower since I already have a 22'' widescreen and a 17'' second monitor and a 7.1 system and such).

nVidia 8800 GTX all the way. I paid £800 for mine, a while ago and it is alot better than the one your planning on getting/already got.

Its Core Duo 2, 4.6Ghz, 120 GB Internal memory and 8G ram

But it's broke atm lol, I need'a sort it out. I get over 500 FPS on CS 1.6 with using "developer_1". Most people usually get around 200 - 300 max.

But, your PC is sounding nice i do admit. Its always good to have a new one.

 

I have a similiar config that I built myself except it has quad core for 500 usd. Of course it didn't come with a monitor and I had like 8 rebates but...

Uber bro! I made one last March, my own computer, for $500. It works fine for me, but you are going to love this one you are building!

 

That sure is good for 1.8 Grand, but why so much? I can get a computer like that for 600-800 dollars.

Anyways, a 512mb video card is perfect, Crysis perfect. With a bunch of ram (you didn't tell us how much ram there is), you can get hundreds of frames per second playing WoW on HIGH mode.
