Do you treat fat people differently?

As the topic states, I feel like i treat fat people differently unconsciously. I am less nice to them and value their opinion less than non obese people. I really want to change it.

What do you do and what do you think of it?

I treat everybody I meet in life equally terribly, I don't concentrate my hate on any one type.

Seriously though, no. I tend to be pretty pleasant to everybody I meet.

Read about this in psychology once:

Personally, I don't care what people are or choose to be. If you're nice to me I'll be nice to you.

Not really, I'm pretty nice to everyone!! Although I went to a bar with my friend for her birthday and she brought one of her "bigger" friends...not a big deal at all. Butttt she was a complete and total bitch, stuck up, condescending...the works. At which point I judged her harder than I have any of the "hot" girls I have met like that.

I don't know I guess I just thought the nerve of this girl, like "you're ugly as sin, at the least you could have is a pleasant personality". Not right I know, its a shame...I make it seem like good looking girls can be absolute cunts and its okay, but thats not the case either

That's pretty interesting, I could definitely see that 110%...its really the social normalcy with what's on tv and everything...to just assume because someone looks good they're a good and successful person.

I think I subconsciously try to avoid fat females, although I have no issues with being friends with them once the ice is actually broken and they turn out to be pretty cool.

However, I don't think I have this issue with fat males because fat dudes that are funny are the best xD

Do you treat fat people differently?

I recognize that I view fat people with a level of indifference exceeding what I treat normal-weight people. I consciously find it annoying when they complain about issues in their life that are clearly negatively affected by their weight. The difference between myself and other people in my position is that I embrace my prejudice, and therefore I can control it and prevent it from coloring any conversation I have with these people. This was a necessary skill to develop as I work closely with thousands of people in my job on campus, and professionalism calls for me to hide any indignation I feel towards students who need my help.

I avoid breathing deeply near fat people for fear that their apathy towards their body extends into personal hygiene as well as fitness. I am especially annoyed with fat people who take up the middle of walkways or hall ways and force you to either walk at their stunted pace until either of us turns off, or to walk into the grass and go around them. I despise the ones who blame genetics for their weight, as they carry around a diet coke and a minisalad, drenched with ranch and sprinkled with crispy chicken strips. I've no patients for those so morbidly obese that they resigned to live the rest of their lives in an electric wheelchair. I celebrate the ones who see the fucking light and lose pounds of body fat until they're a socially acceptable size.

All that being said, I'd like to reiterate that, though I treat them differently in how I regard them and their lifestyles, I outwardly act pleasant and polite to EVERYONE I meet. There's no need to insult them, I know nothing I can say will make a difference in their lives or habits.

I dont mind fat people that are fat because of their genes because you know its not completely their fault and you can see they can take care of themselves

But the really obese ones that you can really tell its because they just eat and laze around bothers me a bit. There is one in my class that walks like a turtle and side to side. The worst part is if you walk behind you will smell the worst smell. Not even joking I hold my breath everytime i go near him.

I just dont see what excuse you have to get yourself to that point. I will still be kind but dont expect me to want to be near you

I've always had this hatred for people who are loud, example the one person in any of your classes who just won't shut up or at work when he/she just blabs on and on about random crap that nobody cares about.

I try approach everyone with an open mind, regardless of size, ethnicity, creed, etc. I'm with Mohtasa however; if they try to make excuses and blame why they are fat on things I'll automatically think less of them. Accept you've made mistakes in the past and then look to rectify them and better yourself as a person rather than playing the blame game as it's a waste of time.

I'm normally the same to everyone, However, I feel like I'm extra nice to timid chubby people, because I feel a bit sorry for them.

    I treat everyone the same.

Unless they treat me differently, I treat everyone with the same amount of respect.

I probably treat fat people better because they tend to be less stuck up and more friendly lol.

I wouldn't say that I treat people with weight issues differently than others. I really am open to everyone and I think everyone deserves a fair chance.

My only pet peeve I have when it comes to people that are overweight is when someone makes an excuse as to why they can't lose weight or do something. It drives me wild.

Absolutely not, I might have done it when I was a young boy but not anymore. we're all different we can only blame ourselves for who we are (most of the time). I also dont see why people laugh at persons who are physically/mentally challenged.

I only discriminate if they act like they are into losing weight for social purposes but in reality they make no effort. Like the fat people who come to the gym and only do 30 mins of jogging on the treadmill and then they are off to KFC.
