    Working out/ meal program

Hey, im just about to start going back to the gym again, recovering from several injuries. The problem here is about my meal program due to my job it might be a bit harder than usual because we really have no breaks at all and im the slowest person in the morning to get up and im usually late for work so dont have time to eat breakfast. I have no idea what i could bring to work that would be high in protein/carbs except for shakes

You cannot make certain exceptions when trying to reach your goals.

Firstly, missing breakfast in the morning is more damaging than you really know. Start waking up earlier to eat breakfast and make the meal a little more proportioned than you regularly would.

In what setting do you work?

Time is a huge issue in what I do, there's simply not enough time for everything.
I could have like a mass gainer as breakfast and then just maybe a snack during the day and eat a few good meals once i get home. this was way easier when i was still in school

You have to make time, there's no shortcuts in following a meal routine.

What are you even trying to do? Gain weight or mass? I only assume that because you suggested having a mass gainer as breakfast.

A good first thing to do as soon as you wake up is take a spoonful of peanut butter - it helps start your metabolism up. Even cooking breakfast the night before, something simple like eggs, could save time in the morning. Healthy cereals as well.

7 meals a day is the recommended amount of meals to consume by most nutritionist for those looking to gain mass and weight.

I'd really suggest protein bars - I wouldn't drink Energy Drinks really because of the fact that it will make you tired later. Energy Drinks come at a cost of droopiness later. Let us know how you're doing! :)

    Won't help you, at all.

I'd highly recommend almonds (easy to eat, easy to pack) and canned tuna (very cost effective, and one of the highest sources of pure protein, and extremely healthy) for protein at work. Almonds are also a great energy source, so it's great for that aswell.

Pasta and rice would be your best alternative for carbs. Easy to make, cost effective, and unlike other foods, tastes alright. You can even opt for fried rice with egg whites.

Protein shakes are also good, however, they will do nothing on their own. If you're working out frequently, then yes, they are useful.

Try making breakfast the night before and eat it on your way to work or something:)

Missing breakfast will not kill your gains, as long as u get the right amount of calories a day. Personally i've recently been fasting doing a small 16:8 hour split just warming up into it. As long as u get them calories you should be fine.

Thanks for all the replies. During these months ive really lost track on what ive been eating. Hopefully i can get used to eating 6-7 meals a day. Nuts would definitely be an option to bring for work as a snack or something.
