Baby born with the mother brain dead on life support.

Pretty much everything you need to know is in that article. So my question is what would you do in his situation?


If I was in his shoes it would be an enormously tough decision to make keeping your brain-dead wife alive and keeping the baby or turning her life support off and losing both her and the baby.

I could look at it logically and ask myself would I be able to properly support and care for my child or would the child be worse off if I kept it.

I could look at it spiritually and morally and say that every living being has the right to life and that the baby is the last memory I'll have of the person I love. On the other hand I could say that keeping her alive is keeping her from the peaceful eternity she's entitled to (if spiritual). That would also mean that turning her life support off is a form of abortion.

In all honesty, if I was in his shoes, I'd keep her alive so the baby could be born and then I would put the baby up for adoption. Currently, I have a stable enough job but it's not enough to be able to support a child properly. I'd also be happy with knowing that there is one last memory of my wife and that she will live on in my child somewhere in the world.

 

Dude seriously???... Its easy, if you loved her and the baby you would make sure nothing happened to the baby and you would take the roll as you would weather or not the mother is there or not??

You would be happy giving your new born baby away?

 

Of course you would have the baby delivered. One life lost is traumatic enough. Even if you couldn't financially or emotionally support the baby, there are other alternatives like adoption.

 

Yeah. Have it delivered. No need to kill a baby. You could even give it up for adoption.
