    Banning lately

Greetings. I have been botting for several years and stopped with the game a month or two after 07 came out because of personal reasons (lack of time, etc). I came back a few days ago and I see there are significantly less players per world than I remember, and I don't seem to run into as many people. I take a look and I see a lot of people getting banned for botting on various forums. These all seem to be "Bot busting..." type bans. Are these where Jmods will go around to popular botting areas and manually bot bust like they used to?

Would it probably be "reasonably safe" to bot in an isolated area (one where you're the only person around- unpopular training spots and stuff)?

I always lived by the rules that jagex only banned players for botting based off player reports, failed randoms, and flags for bot like activity (long periods of time ingame, heavy repetition, no breaks, using the same walking paths...)

    Yes

That will give you better odds, but they're really good at finding you.

Another thing to keep in mind: you'll have to bank your botted goods somewhere and there are only a handful of banks. It's not really possible to bot completely in an isolated area.

Unless jagex develops some kind of system to automatically detect bots it sounds like everything should be good though right?

There are too many bots for them to catch, and another problem they face are people who use bot clients to log in to go staking and stuff so they need to find a way to make sure they don't ban the legitimate players off the Runescape servers.

Well unfortunately for those people, simply using any kind of bot client, even for legit purposes, is a violation of the Terms of Service, so they can actually ban you even if you're not botting.

When 2007scape came out, a lot of players came and tried out the new server. Even popular youtubers like KSI, Athene etc came and tried. First day peaked at like 60k players online. Months after, it soon hit a stable 15k players online. Now its grown a bit to 20k online. So, regarding the bans, they are not the sole reason why the game has significantly less players than it did 8 months ago.

Using the true definition of botting i.e. letting it work hours on end without you checking up on it, you are most likely to get noticed and banned pretty easily, and the offence is unappealable.

Yet if you are able to "Babysit" as its called, you will significantly decrease the risk of getting banned. If you try to interact with the chat where ever you're botting every so often it will help you look legitimate. well that's what I've found, as whenever I'm on the pc (which is a lot) I bot and literally one sentence every 10 minutes has stopped me getting banned. and I bot like flax sometimes which is the most obvious usually.

But yer botting is a lot harder, but goodluck :D

I used to bot 8-10 hours without doing anything and I did that for my main, pure accounts, and some other accounts just for "fun" back then and gave them to friends and stuff.

Now I'm usually babysitting almost all the time. I have some training areas that are pretty much literally in the middle of nowhere, and I've babysat for hours without seeing anybody. On top of that I'll be talking to friends a bit and in clan chats etc. (all while doing paperwork, netflix etc) Have you ever heard of anybody getting banned like this?

From what I've heard jagex has this new thing called "bot watch" or something that works mostly automatically.
