I'm pretty sure passwords are coded and it's hard to read them. Pass can be set to new one through

 

Most forum accounts are automatically protected. You can change them without knowing the password in IPB, not sure on IPS.

Pretty sure this would be blackhat if you are trying to figure somebody's password out...

 

AFAIK, even if you're an admin, passwords wont be visible to you under ACP. I believe if you have root access however, then they may be visible. I'm not 100% sure, been a while since I've used ACP.
